History

In 1912 several Episcopal monks from the St. Barnabas brotherhood purchased a plot of land on the old Gay Road that stretched to the New York state line. With the help of many generous gifts, they built a lake cottage to hold peaceful retreats into solitude and nature. They soon built a chapel and a larger home to care for the ill beginning in 1921. The home served as the central part of the brotherhood’s healing ministry for more than fifty years before closing in 1977 to be sold to the public. Today the historic chapel still serves as a focal point of the estate, and the perfect location for weddings.

Location

Conveniently located along historic Lake Erie, Beach Glass Estates is also near the historic village of North East. This venue is a perfect spot for couples looking for shopping, ski slopes, golf courses, wineries, and of course Lake Erie close by.
