History
General Elisha Boyd purchased the land and completed the house upon it in 1812, at which time the Boyd family moved into the estate. General Boyd’s daughter Mary became the home’s next owner in 1841 upon her father’s death. Electricity was put into the home around 1890. Mary Boyd married Charles Faulkner, who purchased the land from his wife, and the Faulkner family owned the house and surrounding property until 1958. The house underwent minor renovations during this time, including the addition of a back porch in 1914 and the replacement of the Georgian front portico in 1900 with a long front porch.

Having our wedding and reception at Boydville Manor was the very best decision we made! This was the first and only venue we toured and my now husband and I fell in love with it at first sight! The ... Read more mansion is gorgeous, the grounds are breathtaking, the garden patio with Edison lighting is what dream are made of, but truly the determining factor was the warmth and kindness that the owners, Jon and Meagan exuded. From the moment I messaged them and through the entire process they were nothing short of professional, down to earth, extremely helpful and flexible... SO easy to work with. They recommended our caterer to us and we just couldn't have been happier... we are still getting compliments on the food! Meagan, her mother and mother-in-law worked tirelessly behind the scenes all day to make sure everything ran smoothly... and always with a smile. Another unexpected bonus is that they are constantly improving and upgrading their venue. For example, we were planning on using the regular white folding chairs for our ceremony when we booked with them, but by the time our wedding came around they had added beautiful rustic benches as an included option! Over all, Jon and Meagan gave us a flawless experience and truly added to the special memories we made at Boydville that day. Thank you! (pc: Jonalee Earles Photography)
