Cakes by Kathy has been designing custom wedding cakes with family crafted recipes for over 30 years. Kathy specializes in moist buttercream frosted cakes with a broad selection of homemade fillings. Her cakes are delivered and bordered on site and Kathy can also decorate your cake with fresh flowers if the florist has them available for her at the time of her delivery. She has three pricing tiers based upon flavors and ingredients and does not upcharge based upon the cake design. Bride's cakes range from $3.00 to $3.50 per serving and groom's cakes start at $2.75 per serving. Unlike some large bakeries, when you hire Cakes by Kathy, she will be the one designing your cake. She does tastings typically Monday - Thursday at her home office in Pflugerville, Texas (78660) taking her last appointment at 6pm. Kathy has albums full of her cake designs, shapes and sizes and you are always welcome to bring in a photo of the cake design that you would like for her to create. Although she can do a smooth finish in buttercream, she does not cover her cakes with fondant icing due to the taste and texture of fondant.
