This B & B was such a blessing! We had plans to get married in another state but plans fell through 10 days before the wedding. I called the owner of The Carleton House and told her what had happened. She immediately gave me a quote (which was very reasonable) and told me she would take care of everything. On the day of the wedding, we drove in from Fort Worth. Upon arrival, I was led to the bridal suite where I was able to get ready in peace and quiet. Everything was already set up for the wedding downstairs when we arrived. Guests were led inside where they were greeted with soft music and kept the children entertained while everyone waited for the wedding to begin. After the wedding, we were seated to a fabulous meal. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the dinner ambiance was very romantic. When it was time to serve the cake, it looked beautiful and tasted wonderful! The next morning, breakfast was served in front of a warm fire. Once again, the food was amazing!!! After breakfast, we went out for a bit and came back to our room being cleaned and inviting once again.

Everything was very tastefully done. We are so grateful to the owners for their hospitality and help. They helped to make our wedding an unforgettable experience!

I rarely write reviews but I would hate for our experience to happen to another family. It was horrible experience. The "Hostess" LOCKED guests outside in freezing weather and did not allow them in until I had to insist she do so. The tables for reception and chairs for ceremony had not been set up prior to guest arrival. The Flowers WE brought for bride's bouquet and reception tables were left outside in freezing weather and not brought in for reception in dining area; bride walked down the aisle without her bouquet. When we tried to retrieve it, all doors were locked. The Gazebo was supposed to be "decorated" - she put ONE, small, faded fake flower swag on the front! Honeymoon Suite had hornets that came out f bathroom ceiling at midnight for 2 nights. Room was not cleaned/prepared prior to bride and groom's stay. No breakfast or even coffee had been prepared the morning of the wedding - we had to ask for it at 9:30 - got 2 small pancakes and 2 pieces of bacon. Food and cake for reception of very low quality for the price and NOT the menu agreed upon in the contract. House was filthy and covered with dust. Would not recommend this venue for even a small wedding like ours (25 people.) TRAUMATIZING! We could have done much better in our own home with our own home cooking. I was made to expect to just show up and everything would be ready and waiting for us. All we had to provide was the flowers and bride an groom. We brought that and more and still this place fell way below even acceptable. We were so devastated by our experience. BEWARE. That's all I can say.
