Founders Johnny Carrabba and Damian Mandola share a passion for food, family traditions and generous service. Founded in 1986, Carrabba’s Italian Grill set out with the goal of creating an environment where people can feel like guests in a Sicilian home. Damian’s grandparents, Vincent and Margaret, immigrated from Sicily to Galveston, Texas in the late 1800s. Damian still recalls his grandmother instilling in him a passion for food as she crafted homemade pasta that hung over two sterilized broom sticks. Johnny’s mother, Grace, is also to thank for several of the unique and authentic recipes that are served daily at Carrabba’s Italian Grill locations around the nation.
