About Chantilly Plantation

Chantilly Plantation is a historic wedding venue located in Washington, Georgia. Chantilly Plantation’s Manor House has stood sentinel on the hill on Spring Street since 1820. The manor grounds are an elegant venue suitable for outdoor ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners.

Facilities and Capacity

Located on over 120 acres, Chantilly Plantation’s Manor House is a historic Greek Revival building. The entrance to the grand house with its wide front porch, Doric columns, cantilevered balcony, and flat lawn is the perfect location for an outdoor wedding ceremony for up to 200 guests. The vast grounds take you back in time to the bygone era of the Old South, and the side yard provides an excellent spacious location for a reception under the shade of the pecan and magnolia trees. Have your event in the open air or choose to have a tented reception. The manor house is fully furnished, features original heart pine floors, six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a full kitchen and is available for use by the bridal party.

Services Offered

Chantilly Plantation is a fantastic location for an elegant and memorable do-it-yourself outdoor wedding. You can choose your own vendors to create your dream wedding, but the venue is happy to assist by providing a preferred vendor list. The six-bedroom manor is included with their weekend wedding rental from Friday to Sunday, allowing you time to set up on Friday and have your rehearsal. The accommodations can be used as a bridal suite and dressing area for the bridal party and a grooms area on the day of the wedding. The venue has parking, liability insurance, and can provide access to WiFi. They encourage you to contact them to discuss your wedding plans and book a tour of the plantation manor and grounds.

History

US Congressman, the Honorable Francis Willis, founding father of Washington, Georgia, established Chantilly in the early nineteenth century with the first part of the house being built in the 1820s. From the 1830s the house was enlarged by the Dubose family, and by 1850 it was completed in the Greek Revival style as it appears today. In the 1960s the Leavell family completed restorations and the house, and its 19 acres, were purchased by the Bagley’s in 2016, along with the surrounding 101 acres which were part of the original plantation.

Perfection!

We were honored to be the first official wedding held at this venue and they went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us! Jeff & Anita were very accommodating and helpful. It was a ... Read more learning experience for us all, but you’ll be in the best hands here! Our package included two nights stay as well, so we were able to be there the whole weekend, which made things SO much easier.
