Well, I've been to a lot of ranches and have thrown quite a few weekend getaways, but nothing compared (at all) to what we experienced at Chinquapin.

With housing for our 30 closest friends we knew we'd have a good time but the accommodations, amenities and atmosphere here brought a dimension that we couldn't possibly find anywhere else. We made big meals in the lodge, played ping pong and basketball and washers all day, we sat around the campfire at night before retiring to the comfy beds in all the different, beautifully designed and laid-out rooms, and we didn't have any cares in the world while there.

At the heart of the Chinquapin experience is the massive, private, spring-fed, 75degree swimming hole... and it made the weekend for us! After hiking, go for a swim, before dinner, take the plunge, under the full moon, go for a dip... did I mention that it was incredible? It was.

And despite all the activities, there were ten quiet spots to sit still and watch the greatest array of wild Texas birds and exotic antelopes, deer and peacocks roaming free.

The ranch is a perfect combo of activities and action and tranquility amid the natural hill country landscape.

It was perfect for a big group like ours, and would be fantastic for kids too. We want to go back again and again...

Cecilia, one of the owners, is a great communicator and she took incredible care of us in the lead-up to the weekend - and while we were there, Vaughan, the caretaker, was available to help us in any way (talk to Vaughan if you want to hear about how the ranch buildings and lay-out came together). Can't say enough positive things about our experiences at Chinquapin!

We recently got married at Chinquapin Ranch in April and couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. The grounds and cottages are truly spectacular and our guests really felt like they were able to truly relax across the weekend, spending time swimming, fishing and lounging in the hammocks and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere Every detail in the lodge and the cottages makes you feel right at home. From a small rehearsal gathering on Friday, to the ceremony and reception on Saturday and farewell brunch on Sunday, we were able to spend quality time with friends and family across multiple days. The ranch owner and the caretakers were extremely welcoming and accommodating – we wouldn’t hesitate to book a family reunion there in the future and can’t wait to return. Nearby Kerrville has everything you could need, from grocery stores and restaurants to salons and day spas.

Chinquapin was the perfect back-drop for our wedding. The venue rental included the ENTIRE ranch with all the wonderfully appointed, chic cabins for the entire weekend Thurs-Sunday. This allowed us to have multiple events (a bridesmaids luncheon, a wedding day picnic, AND the ceremony and reception) on the ranch. This was made even more special because our groomsmen and bridesmaids were able to stay on the ranch with us the entire weekend. It was amazing to get so much time with those closest to us and no one had to worry about a hotel room and shuttling back and forth to town.

The grounds are just amazing and full of wonderful details that take the ranch from ordinary to extraordinary! Thanks for making my wedding so memorable! Take a look:
