This church was perfect for a smallish cermony and is breathe taking inside and out. It was built in 1889, and the inside is all wood and brick and stone. It holds a maximum of about 125 people. It is a true gem in Pasadena located close to Highland Park. Compared to other churches, which require church membership or larger rental fees, Church of the Angels was very accomodating. Father Bob conducts a traditional Episcopal marriage service or, for same sex couples, he can perform a blessing. The coordinator Rebeccas is very easy to work with and familiar with the location and other local vendors. Last note: gorgeous pictures—seriously look online for other photos—every wedding there is gorgeous with little to no decorations.

The Church of the Angels is the most beautiful place to have a wedding. It's very solemn and natural.

Father Bob, the rector and officiating priest, provides the most heartwarming homily. He made our wedding ceremony very touching. He is full of advice and compassion.

Rebecca Woods, the church's wedding coordinator, is very laid back and accommodates all of our requests. She and Father Bob try to make everything happen for you. Both of them made our wedding ceremony perfect.

We highly recommend having your wedding at The Church of the Angels.

We had our wedding ceremony at the Church of the Angels (Anglican). It is now our home church because we feel very comfortable here. Our officiant is Father Robert Gaestel and the church wedding coordinator is Rebecca Woods. The church is one of the oldest in the area and has an imported stained glass masterpiece above the altar. This is a SERIOUS piece of artwork and I am completely mesmerized by it everytime I attend service. This is a cozy church with maximum seating capacity of about 120 including the upstairs area - not at all like the intimidating money-making machines near Pasadena City Hall with large, impersonal congregations. We tried to check out those churches too, but it was difficult to talk to the people who worked there because they were always having one event or another.

On the wedding day everything went perfectly thanks to Rebecca's wonderful direction. There is a dressing room downstairs. Even though there was a funeral taking place 3 hours before my wedding, there was no interference between the two parties. The atmosphere was truly ethereal and spiritual, and the ceremony so unique and meaningful. You simply have to be there to envision how the architects designed it to bring divinity to the mundane.

As far as the ceremony music went, we did not know any vocalists/soloists, but the place has awesome acoustics and it would have been beautiful. The church organ was recently revamped and sounded so rich. The church organist was had an impressive repertoire and played everything to perfection (I started learning classical music at age 4, and I was satisfied).

The environment around the church is so serene. No traffic, no airplanes flying overhead. And no crying babies if you don't want them there. These things are really noticeable during ceremonies and there was none of that. It also doesn't hurt that it is probably one of the most beautiful, oldest churches around. Our guests loved the ceremony and the site. I will post pictures when I get them because there are not many pics on the website.

If interested just attend one of their services about 3 months in advance. You will need to go through some pre-marital counseling, which is actually one of the best, fundamental parts of the process. We are so lucky we decided to check it out! Having our ceremony here is a huge bargain compared to having it at the other churches in the Pasadena area. You will also save big on decorations because the interior is so beautiful, you don't even need flowers, pew decorations, or swagging.
