Let me start out by saying I can't count the number of times before and after I got engaged that I said I would never get a wedding planner and could do it all myself with my mom (I laugh as I just typed that by the way). Well, that was until I met Cody Smith! As I began booking vendors, I continued to get asked who my wedding planner was and kept saying that I did not need one. They probably thought I was nuts. It wasn't until I booked my photographer that he explicitly told me I needed a wedding planner and the wedding planner I should hire was Cody Smith. That was hands down the best advice I received during the planning process. From our first call with Cody, we knew she was definitely our girl! As we began working with Cody, we loved everything about her. Cody is incredibly talented at what she does and on top of that is so kind and truly cares about you not as just a bride but as a person. Cody took every idea that we had for our wedding and brought it to a whole other level that I could never have imagined. The time she puts in, the detail, energy, and dedication that Cody brings makes you feel as if you are the only bride she is working with. Cody was exactly what I never knew I needed but can't describe how lucky and grateful I am to have had Cody as my wedding planner. Cody is so much more than just your wedding planner; she becomes your family. My wedding was the wedding of my dreams and perfect in every way. I can 100% say that my wedding day was perfect because I had Cody as a wedding planner. Cody, I can't thank you enough for all that you did for us and our wedding. I am so grateful for you. You are the best of the best and one of a kind, as I said in the title a gift from the Wedding Gods! Cody is one of the most organized people I have ever met (coming from a very Type A person myself!). From our very first meeting, Cody was on the ball. She came prepared with detailed Google docs that laid out clear to-do lists and helpful information. Planning a wedding can be extremely overwhelming but Cody takes each piece one step at a time so you are never overwhelmed and actually enjoy the process.

Cody knows everyone there is to know in Charlottesville in the wedding business which is so helpful! Every recommendation she gave us for vendors was absolutely spot on and made whittling down the overwhelming number of wedding vendors in Charlottesville so easy. Her expertise was invaluable since I am located in D.C. and was largely unfamiliar with the many different options in Charlottesville.

Cody is also SO responsive. I don't think my mom or I ever went more than 30 minutes between an email or text I sent her and her reply for the entire year I had the pleasure of working with her. And oftentimes it was within minutes. She truly made me feel like I was her only client with how attentive she was.

Our 200-person wedding was at a venue that is relatively new and necessitated us bringing in nearly every element from outside vendors (catering, rentals, flowers, etc.). Cody seamlessly brought together nearly 20 vendors into one cohesive wedding and I still don't know how she did it! She handled all the correspondence with all our various vendors which was such a weight off our shoulders. Countless wedding guests, family members, bridesmaids, and groomsmen came up to me and my mom to sing Cody and her team's praises. They are clearly such a well-oiled machine.

Cody is also one of the sweetest people I've met. She is always smiling and has a great attitude. She will keep you calm if you are overwhelmed. She will always go out of her way to make sure you are feeling happy and confident during the wedding planning process. Her team is also highly competent, kind, and organized.

I promise you that Cody is the best in the game and you will be lucky to work with her!

Working with Cody was the best choice me and my husband made for planning our special day. She was so responsive and constantly communicating with us to ensure that all our major deadlines were met without worry. She facilitated the communication with my other vendors- one less thing I had to worry about while I was working full time. She was immensely organized as well. She never missed a beat and noted every last thing I would say or a vendor would say to ensure a flawless execution that fit my vision. Beyond all her professionalism and connections in the industry, Cody is such a sweet soul. She was like part of the family and made me, my husband, and our family feel so comfortable around her.
On the big day, she brought an amazing team of people to attend to me and my husband. The bridal and groom attendants were so helpful; they would get us drinks, carry a "go-bag" with lipstick, tissues, blotting sheets, etc, hang out during pictures to hold my drink, fluff my dress, and fix our hair (it was a windy day so this was invaluable!). The attendants were also so comfortable to be around and made me, my husband, and our parties feel so special.
If you are looking for a planner, Cody is your girl. Her attention to detail, organization skills, connections in the industry, and communication are unmatched. I couldn't imagine going through my wedding without her behind the scenes ensuring it was everything me and my husband wanted.
