Our Wedding was more beautiful than we imagined

We rented the Sunken garden for an evening, winter wedding and it was absolutely stunning! We had 80 people on our guest list, and it was fabulous. We opted for the candelabras ($100) down the center, and with the lighting, it was perfection. We didn't need a sound system, just had the fountain turned off. The only downside to our beautiful evening was that our photos didn't turnout as well as we had hoped. We knew lighting would be an issue since it was evening, and only over head chandeliers. If you opt for an evening wedding, I would definitely suggest doing your photos earlier in the day, or make sure your photographer has the right lighting equipment.

Following the ceremony, we went over to the Ordway gardens for a cocktail style reception. We had a delicious taco bar, and drinks and mingled with all our loved ones. It was an intimate setting, and absolutely perfect for our relatively small wedding. The staff were fabulous, and I would recommend this stunning venue to anyone! Plus we kept our cost low, I think we were at about $5,500 for the day.

Beautiful garden for the ceremony

The Sunken Garden is a perfect wedding ceremony venue. It's already equipped with flowers so you don't have to spend money on flowers for the ceremony. Saves money! Reasonable price.

Get married at Como!!!

We got married in the Sunken Garden with our reception in the Covered Porch and absolutely loved our venue! It felt unique but accessible. It's obviously a beautiful venue and any location there is going to be gorgeous. Staff worked with us to make all aspects of our day run smoothly. The in house catering (Lancer) made decisions easy. The food, bar, wait staff, decor, and clean up are all taken care of for you.

I love Como. I grew up visiting the zoo and my favorite places for photography are the Sunken Garden, the Fern Room, and the Merry-Go-Round! There is also a nice overlook with pillars on a rocky cliff right outside the Conservatory. The people are nice and I've done several Como wedding fairs! I've been a part of some awesome magazine shoots for Knitter's Universe with professional models out of Chicago and they did a complete spread, you guessed it, right at Como! The location was hand picked for it's scenic backgrounds. You know you're at Como when you see the Palm Dome! If you go at the right time of day you can get a striking reflection in the pool outside.
