Wedding Guest August 20, 2021

I am 80 years old, my wife mid 70's.
No handicap parking or accommodation. Very dark and unsafe walking to car. No cooling fans. Grass clumps to event unsafe.
No info on cost, etc as I was a guest.
Could have been better. I rate it a C

Wedding planning from hell.

Unprofessional. Rude. Dishonest. A bully. I have been involved or invited to three weddings at this venue. Every single one had issues with the owner. She backs out on her word, bullies her brides, and refuses to compromise. One wedding I attended was in the pasture, I understand that they do have animals but there was no effort to attempt to clean up after them and the wedding was occurring in the midst of the cows waste. That is unacceptable for a professional venue. Jackie claims to have set up for so many weddings and every one is happy but Jackie only knows how to set up one wedding and you will not be deviating from her vision. She has no flexibility and does not care about your dreams. She won’t allow you the use of the house to get ready but is perfectly fine funneling people through the smallest room to eat. She tries to claim “social distancing” but how can you cram people together but the bride and her maids can’t get ready in the same room? The room she insists you use instead is far smaller and even less distanced. She claims it’s for cleaning purposes, get out the Lysol Jackie. She has harassed poor brides so much that they don’t want to attend their own wedding and devastated several vendors to the point they refuse to do business out there. You may think you are getting a good deal with Dayspring, but you are signing yourself up for a planning process from hell. Jackie will respond to my review saying that she has never booked an event with me as she has tried to discredit so many other reviews of her work before me, but you do not have to be the paying party to witness or experience the damage this one seems to inflict everywhere she goes. I know every experience is different, but when booking here ask yourself if you want your dream wedding or Jackie’s.

Bully, unprofessional, and no values

Where should I even begin with this...
For clarity, I am a BRIDE that booked this venue well over one year ago.
For starters, Jackie (the woman who runs the venue) is a bully. There are no other words for her actions towards me, my mother, my wedding planner/coordinator, and my decorator. If you have ideas or want to change or move anything at all she will tell you Yes, to your face. Then, send you emails telling you “this is her venue and she knows what works best. She tries to word it like she’s taking the stress off of you, but really she just wants the control over your wedding. In some cases it would even seem as though she is making fun of you (AKA bullying).
She blatantly ignored my wedding planner for the entire month of July (to be exact July 9th-August 7th), but she will say she did eventually get back with her.
We simply asked where else we could put the food, she would not even discuss putting it anywhere else. Even though I told her I needed two buffet lines to efficiently serve 300 people, she disagreed.
When I asked to use one of the tables provided for the memory table, she said, that’s where the sparklers always go. ??What??
However, what really takes the cake with all of this is her need for control over your wedding day.
It all really started when she randomly emailed my wedding planner stating that we could only have 75 of our 300 guest count attend due to the restrictions of the state mandate. Then, the next week she emailed again saying that we could have 100 guest. She was still blaming all of this on the state mandate, even though it had not changed. So, we canceled our event under the “Cannot preform clause”. Then, suddenly 300 people were totally fine to come! Funny how that works.
Later we found out we couldn’t use both areas to get ready. According to her website and contract she offers a bridal house and a groom mobile home. Her reasoning was “cleaning” and the state mandate once again. However, now she’s really dug in saying that her elderly family live in the bridal house (which we haven’t been told until today of course). She also claims that the farm house (bridal house) is the same size as the single wide trailer she offers. (Lol)
And finally but certainly not least, the latest. She is accusing me of extortion and using “fake names” to post reviews. She’s threatening me with her lawyer for these “fake reviews” (not fake, also not me). She also stated in her latest email that she recorded every conversation we’ve had (of course without my permission or knowledge) and that her lawyer had those as well.
There is so, so much more that I could add. However, this is where I will stop. I just do not want people to make the same mistake I did. I can no longer trust anything Jackie says, and do not want future brides to be ran over like she tried to do to me.
So, in short, don’t book this venue simply because the grown woman running it is a controlling bully that only wants to throw the wedding that she wants.
