As one of one of Jamaica’s leading national monuments and a symbol of the cultural diversity, this Caribbean oasis is waiting for you to make it your romantic destination. Devon House is a picturesque venue to hold any wedding, whether your dream event looks like acres of sprawling, vibrant lawns surrounded by regal palm trees swaying in the breeze, or a majestic, 19th-century ballroom full of precious antiques.

Facilities and Capacity

With ample space indoors and outdoors to choose from, Devon House Jamaica sets the scene for a historic, elegant event, no matter the size. The Devon House mansion, designed with a beautiful blend of Caribbean and Georgian architecture, is furnished with an expertly curated collection of Jamaican, English, and French antique pieces and reproductions. The East Lawn is the perfect spot for a secluded, private wedding ceremony, with hedges and trees enclosing the area from the street and fully equipped with a gazebo and a bandstand. The East Lawn gazebo is a stunning space for a ceremony, cocktail reception, buffet, or sit-down dinner for a small group, while the bandstand is nestled in the shade and connected to a circular dance floor. Using the mansion as a backdrop, The Formal Gardens are ideal for elegant events as a stunning fountain and stone aisle with grand marble steps leading up to the mansion.

The Devon House mansion was built in 1881 by George Stiebel, Jamaica’s first black millionaire. After 100 years of different owners, the estate and grounds were completely refurbished in 1982 by the Government of Jamaica and opened by Queen Elizabeth II. Devon House was declared a national monument in 1990 by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust and has been a popular tourist and event destination ever since.
