Dj Saxx, Richard Studd is a talented Jamaican artist, musician, saxophone player, and entertainer who currently resides in Negril, Jamaica, and began playing the Saxophone at the age of ten with formal training at the Alpha Boys School in Kingston, Jamaica. Richard also plays the Clarinet, OBO, Bassoon, Tambourine, and is a vocalist. Richard Studd has performed in Jamaica, the United States, and Romania. DJ Saxx has performed with legendary musician Bob Wier from the Grateful Dead, Steven Segal, and has performed with The Radiator in New Orleans. Locally in Jamaica DJ Saxx has performed for Nelson Mandela and Pope John Paul.
Previously, Richard Studd has performed with Gregory Issac, AJ Brown, Frankie Paul, Ken Boothe, Beenie Man, Heptones, Yellowman, Pat Kelly, Harold Dunkley, Loving Dear, Culture, and many other talented artists. Richard Studd has performed at the Grand Lido in Negril, Beaches resorts, the San Souci, Hedonism, Couples Swept Away, the Jamaican Grand hotel in Ocho Rios, and the Boscobel Beach hotel as well as many local Jamaican music festivals and Martin's Inter-Culture, 2014 Festival of Life Caribbean festival in Chicago, Illinois.
Richard Studd's personal philosophy is, "You only have one life to live, enjoy it honestly." Moreover, Richard is a talented, yet humble musician who hosts, emcee's, and entertains at weddings, private parties, and corporate events, with a five piece band, and plays a variety of music to accommodate any groups preference with such styles as, Top 40, Dance, Trance, Techno, 70's-80's music, Old School Disco, House music, Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Culture Reggae, Roots Reggae, Dance-hall Reggae, Rock-steady, Ska, Rock-and-Roll, Country music, Rock, and Rat Pack.
