Sean of DJNYC completely understood the vibe we were trying to achieve for our winery wedding. We had an absolute blast dancing (we didn't think we'd be dancing at all!) and our guests were thrilled. There were many times during the different parts of the night that I found myself thinking "this song is perfect and exactly what we wanted". We feel very lucky to have found DJNYC for our special event.

Identifying music for our wedding was one of the most stressful parts of the event planning. We had a vision of 'the perfect dinner party' and the food and venue that we wanted were clear to us; however, we have a variety of musical interests and a limited music vocabulary. Sean took our mediocre explanations, analogies and limited song list and created a perfect sound for each of the three parts of our evening. For the outdoor cocktails, we wanted an outdoor-California-funk-chill-summer-festival vibe, for dinner a world-music-twinged-chill-sometimes-acoustic ambiance and for dancing, we wanted a modern-soul-train-slash-90s-euro-pop-also-make-sure-the-parents-dance marathon. They nailed it all.

Sean and Dan of DJNYC offered us services and an experience that we couldn't find elsewhere. We absolutely did not want an MC shouting over our guests, we wanted someone who accepted that we weren't going to incorporate many "traditional" wedding activities, we needed someone who was sensitive to our particular venue and we wanted someone who was OK with creating a perfect vibe without being the center of attention.

Dan and Sean helped us to plan for the event over the phone cross-country. I felt extremely comfortable that they understood the physical nuances of our venue - an outdoor pavilion, outdoor cocktails, a winery setting. During the wedding, Sean was always attentive, making sure we had the microphone for our own announcements and making sure the volume was appropriate for the stage of the evening. My wife and I were so very pleased with Sean and Dan of DJNYC!

Dan and Sean are amazing Djs. They played great music the day of our wedding and kept the events of the evening flowing seamlessly. Sean and Dan did a great job incorporating songs we liked into our cocktail hour and wedding reception. We received so many compliments from our guests that the music DJNYC played was the best music they had ever heard at a wedding. Our guests, along with my husband and I, had so much fun dancing during the reception. DJNYC also provided the up-lighting for our wedding, which looked beautiful. I would definitely recommend DJNYC!

Dan and Sean killed it. Every person we talked to at and after the wedding commented on how the setlist was 'ridiculous' aka amazing/so fun and that everyone was up dancing the whole night non stop...exactly what we wanted! I was drenched by the end of the night from dancing so much. Our friends and family of all ages were up on the dance floor!
They really personalized the night. They knew we were an Italian catholic & Jewish couple so they had such great ideas to make it really seem like an interfaith wedding. The intro before the wedding party came out was funny and so personal. They even welcomed everyone in hebrew and italian. Beside the great intro, they were very light on the mic, which is what we wanted. We can't cheesy DJ's that are like 'everyone get up up up on the dance floor...holler...' The highlight of the night was when we did the Horah (jewish song) and went straight into Lazy Mary (italian song). It blended our 2 faiths together so well and was tons of fun to dance to. It made us all feel the same...like one family.
Sean was wonderful to work with. He met with us twice to talk through every detail of the night, had really good recommendations and integrated our ideas. I was so glad that he pushed us to think of more songs for our playlist. We had a 15 song list to ensure they were able to play sounds that went with the vibe...since we trusted them to know when to keep the energy high and when to turn it down a notch for a slow song. Sean asked us to dig back into our old mix tapes and give him all the songs we love regardless of if they're danceable or not. He mingled the non danceable songs we love during meal time and played songs like 'The Sign' and other 'amazing' songs that we all listened to in middle-high school. Everyone loved it. It was the most unique playlist..in fact people have asked for a copy of it.
Two thumbs way up for DJNYC. You won't regret it!
