Born in Brooklyn, NY, Terance Takyi aka DJ TAO often found himself following the shadows of his older brother who essentially introduced DJ TAO into the Hip Hop music genre. Inspired by the movie “Juice”, DJ TAO began spinning his dad’s old used turntables at the age of 14. Turntablism and music has always been a fascination of DJ TAO as he would often DJ parties for his friends and family.

Flash Forward 10 years, Terance has successfully graduated from college in North Carolina and has moved back to New York to work for a prominent bank within the Asset Management division. However, while working long hours at the bank and living a high stress life, Terance realized that he needed to add something else to his life. He finally decided to begin DJ’ing outside of his small circle of friends and into the mainstream.

Now having dj’d for Guess stores and more recently Armani Exchange’s throughout the tri state area, DJ TAO is quickly becoming one of New York’s best DJ’s.
