An opulent venue deep in the vibrant center of downtown Mount Clemens, Michigan, the Emerald Theatre is the ideal setting for an alternative wedding experience. Dating back to 1921, this renovated theatre is bursting with romantic character and historic charm. Originally a grand movie palace, the theatre has evolved into a haven for rockstars and showstopping performers. A tasteful blend of brick and leather, this stylish space has played host to artists such as Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Featuring opera boxes and tiered cabaret-style seating, this is the ideal space for throwing a spectacular event.
Facilities and Capacity
From movies to Vaudeville to rockstar performances, the Emerald Theatre is no stranger to electric experiences. Originally designed by legendary architect C. Howard Crane, this century-old venue found a new lease of life in 2016. Lovingly renovated and restored, this 23,000 square-foot theatre can hold up to 1,620 across its balconies, mezzanines, and main floor. The venue can be easily customized to suit any wedding size with comfortable seating. Couples can greet friends and family with a custom message on the outside marquee before welcoming them inside for cocktails on the balcony. On the main stage, couples can share their first kiss as newlyweds to the applause of their loved ones before the space is transformed into a banqueting hall. The exclusive Rock Room offers atmospheric lighting, plush leather interiors, and a private bar, ideal for wedding parties and intimate gatherings.

Simply The Best!
The team there was attentive to our every need, and the best thing I can share is that from the owner, to our amazing coordinators, to the servers, every single person seemed to truly and deeply care about making sure our special day was truly that (that you will not find almost anywhere else in our experience). If you are looking for a place that will deliver a unique and wonderful atmosphere that will leave your family and friends talking about your wedding for years to come, this is the place.
On a technical level, we had a lounge singer for the cocktail hour, a live band for the reception, and performed the ceremony right there as well, in addition to having all of our photos taken prior to the ceremony. It was all handled seamlessly and our guests raved about what a great "flow" the entire day had to it! Their teams pulled off all those moving parts like the pros they are!
Also, the food from D'Amatos was unbelievable!!!! The shrimp, the beef, the rice balls, all of it was truly great and the staff there also did a truly remarkable job even at our tasting menu appointment.
We just keep hoping one of our friends decide to get married there too so we can experience it guests!
