History
Bartlesville is the location of Oklahoma’s initial oil well. In the days dating back to 1897, interested industrialists and oil barons flowed into the area, effectively settling the city. Frank Phillips arrived in Bartlesville in 1903 with intentions to appraise the flourishing oil sector for potential opportunities. In his time there he experienced triumphs and struggles but facilitated 81 oil wells which contributed to the country’s oil-centered economy. The final construction of the house finished in 1909 and became a family home, but also a hub for social gatherings and corporate exchanges.
