Gather Events is absolutely wonderful! We hired them for month-of coordination of our wedding as well as a couple of initial planning and design consulting add-on meetings. Besides deciding to get hitched, it was hands-down the best wedding-related decision we made! Unlike some of the other LA-based wedding planners I spoke to, Sarah and Laura were very respectful of our non-celebrity-level budget from the start, and had tons of creative suggestions on how to maximize the fun without blowing our budget, like hiring a taco truck to save on renting china, and making it a roving reception that incorporated the site's available eclectic seating. They have excellent connections to both up-and-coming talents and established vendors, and have a stellar reputation in the industry. I found that mentioning their name had an "open sesame" effect-- suddenly elusive or in-demand vendors would respond with great enthusiasm to my emails. I mostly worked with Laura in the month leading up to the wedding and she is an incredible person: whip smart, kind, creative, highly organized, and epitomizing grace under pressure. Her warm check-ins really kept me and the wedding planning on track. She instantly got the laid-back desert ranch vibe we were going for and had so many on-point ideas on how to make the wedding extra-special and "us," like having aguas frescas welcome drinks, a s'mores station, take-home Mexican blankets, and a polaroid guest book. Sarah was also amazing during the initial meeting and on the big day, and has a great sense of humour. It was really incredible working with both of them, and both my husband and I, as well as our family and friends, were absolutely thrilled with how the wedding turned out. I can't count the number of times guests have told me it was the "best wedding ever." Thanks to Gather, I was able to relax and have the time of my life. I really miss seeing Laura's emails pop up in my inbox and wish I could hire her as a life planner!
