If you’re looking for top notch customer service and a phenomenal wedding dress experience this is the place! The owner Ama was a miracle worker! My mom passed down her wedding dress to me, that was over 40 years old. Ama was able to restore, make some modern changes, and create a beautiful dress that fit me perfectly! I didn’t realize how long something like this would take, so when I expressed the short deadline I had, Ama surprised me with her sense of urgency and worked overtime to make sure my experience and final product was everything I had hoped for. It actually turned out way better than I even thought! She was so sweet, personable, and extremely talented at what she does. The venue was intimate and you can tell she loves what she does. I couldn’t have asked for better results and I would recommend this place to any bride looking for a stress free experience and the wedding dress of their dreams. She captured mine and my moms vision, while offering her own suggestions that made all the difference. Absolutely loved it!

I called this store after having a bad experience with another place. I was very discouraged after my appointment with the other bridal store. Just after talking to Ms. Ama on the phone I knew I had found the right place. I went to the appointment and she was nice and very friendly. She was very straight forward and honest about what the dress needed. I was happy with the quote I was given and excited to work with her.

OMG!! What can I say about Ms. Ama! She has become family and has been like a second mother. Let tell you the blessing that lord place upon me in my time of need:

I brought my dress from a bridal boutique in Baltimore and lets just say after the experience I had with the owner nobody from her store was going to touch my wedding dress. My mother and I have been look for seamstress by the name of Grace that we have referred many brides too in the pass but could find her boutique to save our lives. After driving all around Laurel MD , looking for Grace my mother stumbled upon Genesis Bridal Couture Studio. After looking at all the pictures, reviews and website my mom notice that the lady in the photos looked like Grace and it could have been her and probably changed her companies name. So my mom and I decided to drive to the location and pray that is was her..... well we got the shock of our lives.

When we entered the storefront we were met by Ms. Ama who was very pleasant and nice to meet with us without an appointment. We explained to her that my dress from a different boutique hasn't arrived yet and because we had a major argument with he store owner I was not conformable with the boutique touching my dress. We let her know what we looking for another lady that we knew by the name of Grace and what brought us to the store that she resembled her and we was not sure if it was her or not. Well lord and behold she told us that Grace was one of her sisters and that she was the older sister that taught her the ins and outs of the business. When I tell you I screamed and jumped for joy you would have thought I won the lottery. I was more than confident that I was in great hands.

Let me give you short timeline of the drama I was facing: My wedding was 7/20/19 , my wedding dress was due to arrive at the store that we shall not mention on 6/17/19 , the actually arrive to the store until 6/28/19. From June 29th - July 13th , I was at Ms.Ama storefront doing numerous dress fittings to make sure that alterations were done in time for the wedding. Let me tell you when we did the first fitting we were all pissed at the disaster that we were met with. My dress was ordered 4 sizes too big. I wear a size 14 and my wedding dress should have been ordered in 20 give or take and not a size 26. When I tell you I was heated , I was heated literally started to have an overload of emotions because I could not believe that this wicked woman ordered my dress this big. Ms. Ama told me that should have been ordered in a size 20 no bigger than 22 ( I am very blessed in my breast area ) to have give some extra room for alterations but they shouldn'y have ordered me a 26.


Ms. Ama or Mama Ama as I call her did an amazing job on my dress. I mean she basically turn my dress into a custom made dress. We has so much fabric from that dress we probably could have made another dress. I will post before and after pictures. She took a disaster situation in a beautiful master piece. She was so kind and encouraging everytime I spoke with her. She was my shoulder to cry on , my listening ear during my time of need. My mom was not able to attend my fitting due to being out of town for work and my mom was so confident that me and Ms. Ama had everything covered.

All in all, Ms. Ama is a stop shop. She can take care of your entire wedding party at her storefront. You will not go wrong with selecting Genesis Bridal Couture Studio!
