About Grand Hall at The Gateway

The Union Pacific Depot served as Salt Lake City's railroad transportation center from 1909 though the 1970's and still retains the historical charm of the early 20th century. The most impressive room, the Grand Hall, features a domed ceiling rising three stories above the central waiting area. There are two oil-on-canvas paintings by San Francisco artist John McQuarrie depicting great moments in Utah's history. Beautiful stained glass windows on the west wall feature a series of various kinds of rail transportation. All of the magnificent artwork remains today.

One of the outstanding architectural structures in Utah, the historical renovated and restored Union Pacific Depot will provide the perfect venue for your most special event.

This is a beautiful amazing venue my biggest disappointment is the echo in the hall. I feel like it was a total killer for such a beautiful artistic room. They should invest in acoustics and sound ... Read more proof tools for such a large grand venue. Everything else tho was beautiful. It's just hard when you can't hear any speeches or when you are expecting a nice romantic seated dinner and the sound is super loud with the echos of people talking.
