The Historic Green Acres is proud to have available to St. Joseph and the surrounding area the Grand Ballroom, The Courtyard, The Gathering Room and The Hideaway & Lightcourt. Green Acres was originally built in 1919 to help those less fortunate, and provide for them a home and food. In recent years, the historic building has undergone a complete renovation, restoring the exterior of the building to it's orginal splendor and transforming the interior into proffessional office / retail space as well as three indoor and two outdoor venues for special occasions.

The Ballroom

The Green Acres Ballroom offers patrons and event coordinators the opportunity to entertain up to 250 guests with both style and class. The orginal architecture, including a skylight, large windows, and a series of pillars; adding ambiance and design to the expansive space making it the perfect venue for any event from elegant to casual, as well as corporate events, both large and small. Equipped with a large kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink. The Ballroom also has a dance floor, an audio/visual system with 3 flat screen tv's for a slide show or presentation. You'll have everything you need for your special occasion! There is access to our beatiful Courtyard for an additional fee for a gorgeous ceremony, or an indoor/outdoor experience.

The Hideaway & Lightcourt

The Hideaway is on our Garden level, and can accommodate up to 30 guests and perfect for corporate training, meetings, showers, or anniversaries. It has a buffet bar, microwave, and mini freezer. Adjoined to it is The Lightcourt; one of the many innovative features of the building. Initially designed to allow natural light into the building, but now with the hard work of staff and crew there is a red brick patio, a splendid array of greenery and flowers, a soothing fountain, and outdoor furniture if needed.

The Gathering Room

The Gathering room is designed for a bit larger events for 50-60 guests. With the exposed brick and the neutral palette, it is the perfect setting for you next family reunion or corporate training. It is equipped with a buffet bar, refrigerator and microwave. It does have access to the Courtyard for an additional fee for a small ceremony or an indoor / outdoor experience for your guests.

The Courtyard
This beautiful space is inset on the back of our building with a variety of flowers and greenery surrounding the lawn. A red brick walkway that leads to a patio, covering it with a gazebo' makes a stunning location for a wedding ceremony, or beautiful setting for an outdoor celebration. It has access to The Gathering room, as well as The Ballroom.
