I had my reception here and everything went very smoothly. The ballroom was a really nice size for my 175 guests. We had plenty of space with two bars and a dance floor. It was beautiful, they set up everything very nicely. They also catered and the food was actually really good. We had a buffet and everything was fresh and well stocked throughout dinner. The service was impeccable and I was not stressed out at all on my wedding day.

They say something always goes wrong on your wedding day - well Holiday Inn is what went wrong. First, it's a very old and run down hotel. The rooms are okay. We booked it because the suites were a good size for getting ready in and it was close to the metro for our guests. But it felt dingy. And a lot of guests had problems with their keys not working, repeatedly. But the real kicker - we (Bride and Groom) weren't given a room!! Because of character limit I can't go into everything so here is the reader's digest version. My MOH checked into our room for us and brought our bags to the room. Fast forward to after the wedding ends and our keys don't work. Front desk tells my husband it's the wrong room and give us keys to a different room. The keys work but the room is occupied by someone! We go down to the desk and I express my frustrations. They immediately react defensively, blaming me and saying we never checked in. They won't go to the original room to find our bags, they won't give us a new room. At one point I explain that my MOH can't come participate in this argument because she is sleeping already and the man at the front desk says "Wow, that's an early end to a wedding." I later found out he also said to my father that he had been "over-served" (as in too much to drink). Eventually I'm sitting in the lobby, in my wedding dress, crying because I just want to go to bed, when they walk out with our bags. I still don't know where they found them. I was also charged for that room and finally refunded after returning from the honeymoon. In my conversations with the hotel manager, I got the impression that these staff members were not reprimanded, punished, or even retrained on how to handle customers. I'm not sure how this hotel is in business if this is how staff treat customers with a 30+ room wedding block and, especially, if those staff member have no repercussions for that behavior. STAY AWAY!
