History
The Stone Manor House was built in the 1740s. Later on, Juliana Force, then director of New York’s Whitney Museum, owned the property and built additional buildings. In 1936, playwright George S. Kaufman bought the land. By 1974, Don and Ann Mills purchased the property and turned it into the original bed and breakfast inn.

The rustic wedding venue is 12 minutes from downtown New Hope, 12 minutes from Doylestown, and 55 minutes from Philadelphia. Trenton, New Jersey is 35 minutes away and New York City is 90 minutes away.

The venue itself is easy to fall in love with. The historic inn is gorgeous and each room is beautifully designed with antique furniture and detailed, timeless decor. The grounds are so well-maintained and taken care of.
But even better than the grounds & venue is the staff at Barley Sheaf. I can't express enough how caring, thorough, and communicative each member of the team has been through this entire process. I've never heard of another friend having such a supportive staff dedicated to their wedding as you have at Barley Sheaf. They went above and beyond catering to our every needs and making us feel like our comfort and happiness was the sole focus of the day (which isn't always the case at other venues).
