Tracy was raised in Winston-Salem and earned her BFA in painting from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she met her husband. It was her experience with Jewelsmith designing her engagement ring that led her to a career in jewelry. She began as a bench jeweler at a small store in Greensboro while obtaining her GG through Gemological Institute of America. Tracy joined the Jewelsmith team as a Graduate Gemologist in 2014 and went on to earn her Certified Gemologist Appraiser Certification through AGS in 2017. When she’s not taking in the awesomeness that is the Earth’s creation of gemstones, she enjoys “yardening,” coffee, and spending time with her husband, sons, and cat.

Phil graduated from East Carolina University in 1985. From there he lived and worked in Vermont, Maryland and a short stint in Tokyo. Finally landing in Durham in 1991 to start a career at Jewelsmith that covers nine Spectrum awards, two Japanese Pearl awards, two American Pearl Design awards, one Gemmy, one Jewelers Manufacturing award and one Platinum International Design award. His hobby is pushing the design envelope in his craft. He enjoys being a father to an amazing young woman and three cats.

Molly joined the Jewelsmith team in 2000 as a goldsmith and since 2008 has branched out into CAD (computer aided design) work as the possibilities for the technology have expanded. She also works on our website and social media. She earned her BFA in metal design from East Carolina University in 1995 which is where she met her husband. When she’s not solving jewelry puzzles at work, she enjoys puzzle games, traveling, photography (Instagram @hollingsworth.m) and hanging out with her hubby and kitty.

Cameron White was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She earned a BFA in Metal Design and Art Education at East Carolina University as a double major in 1999. After a few years living and working in Colorado as a goldsmith, she returned to NC to begin her career at Jewelsmith in 2001. She designs, fabricates, sets stones, strings beads and pearls and does repair work. Cameron loves to help the client’s vision of a piece of jewelry come to life. Seeing the joy and appreciation on their face is magical. Cameron and her husband are the proud parents of three girls, and enjoy their dog Coco.

Patrick started in the jewelry industry in 1997 as a sales associate at a small store in Malibu, CA. Having been interested in various visual arts, including drawing and painting, he realized that jewelry is just another media with its own set of rules. He began designing custom pieces and learning how to fabricate and carve wax. In 2003, he began working for Jewelsmith. He says that he feels fortunate to work with a variety of fantastic bench jewelers who have been willing to share their time and experience with him. In 2013 he fully transitioned from the sales team to a bench jeweler position but still continues to work with clients to create one-of-a-kind pieces.

Bongsang “Bon” Cho

Designer/Goldsmith/Casting Specialist

Bongsang “Bon” Cho was born in South Korea where he earned his BFA from Hanyang University. He came to the US in 2006 and attended Montgomery College in Maryland. While studying there he worked for Studio Namu where he gained practical jewelry making experience. He earned his MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2012. He joined the Jewelsmith team in 2021. When he’s not creating jewelry, he enjoys playing tennis and walking with his wife and rescue dog, Kami.

Denis joined the Jewelsmith team in 2015 after earning his experience as a goldsmith by working more than 10 years for leading companies in the New York Diamond District. In addition to his work experience, Denis possesses a Bachelor’s degree in casting production. His role in the company includes designing, CAD (computer aided design), fabrication and stone setting. He enjoys designing and making classic style jewelry. While away from his work bench, he loves fishing, craftsmanship projects and spending time with his beloved wife and two children.

Kristine started working part-time while studying Communications at North Carolina State University in 2003 (though a Duke Basketball fan since birth). Enamored by the jewelry and fun atmosphere, she continued her career wearing multiple hats within Jewelsmith, zealously learning the jewelry industry from her skilled colleagues. From photography, to accounting, to vendor & client relations and interaction, Kristine manages everything (and everyone) from the front of the house to the back. When she's not multi-tasking at work, she's busy planning her next travel destination. Full of wanderlust, she loves to travel and explore new places and its food and beverages. If you can't find her here, she's probably scuba-diving, or at the beach, listening to music and dancing with her fur-baby, Ace. In true 80s-baby/Gen X fashion, Diamonds and Pearls make her a happy girl.

Armed with an art degree, a small amount of equipment and a passion for design, Linda McGill began her jewelry career in her hometown, Durham, NC. It was 1976, and the start of Jewelsmith coincided with a time of booming growth in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and RTP-Research Triangle Park). Prestigious universities like Duke, UNC, NC State and NC Central attracted an increasingly large number of highly educated and multi-cultural people to the area. As the community became a hot-spot for the arts, Jewelsmith emerged as "the" destination for unparalleled jewelry design and superior customer service.

Before long, the store moved from a small workshop to a larger, more visible location in the Erwin Square tower near Parizade Restaurant on Main Street. Linda assembled a knowledgeable team of jewelry professionals who adhere to her core philosophy that ethics would always be their highest priority. She hired talented people and provided an atmosphere that allowed them to flourish. The designers/sales people, goldsmiths, gemologists and administrative staff all work together on each piece with the common goal of exceeding client expectations with both our finished product and our customer service-centric environment.
