In college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Tiffany was headed for a degree in child psychology when a chance encounter with her very own Fairy God-Mother changed the course of her life. She graduated instead with a degree in studio art and an unquenchable desire to create beauty in this world. A few years later, she found herself at Jewelsmith surrounded by beautiful jewelry and the opportunity to adorn clients with one-of-a-kind custom creations. She loves the process of transformation that happens when old, forgotten pieces are turned into unique works of art that truly reflect the wearer. When not designing for Jewelsmith clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga and meditating.
Mary Coleman wisely transplanted to Durham from Brooklyn, NY over a decade ago. A serendipitous meeting led her to Jewelsmith in 2014, and she immediately fell in love with the creativity and innovation. Luckily for her they allowed her to join the sales team, and fostered her design abilities. When she isn’t drooling over gemstones and transforming love stories into wearable art, Mary can be found at Target with her children in tow.
Katherine joined the Jewelsmith team in 2004 as a Gemological Institute of America Graduate Gemologist. In 2006 she earned her Certified Gemologist Appraiser credentials from the American Gem Society and to this day, is still excited about the variety and quality of the gemstones we use in our designs. What could possibly be better than spending the day with a microscope examining the natural beauty created by our earth?! The love of earth sciences extends to all things outdoors, long hikes on the Eno, camping, lounging at the lake, roaming the wilds of the mountains… Middle Earth. If she must be contained indoors, Katherine will be snuggled under a blanket, reading either biographies or fabulous fiction.
