This is an absolutely beautiful venue, perfect for outdoor weddings. My only complaint is that there are some rules that appeared after we had signed the contract, on top of the multitude of restrictions prior to signing the contract. No balloons, fire, sparklers or non-biodegradable confetti is allowed, but that was not a big deal for us.

We loved this location and The event coordinator was very helpful the day of our wedding helping find a tent for our string quartet due to some drizzle. I highly recommend also hiring a day of wedding coordinator at this site to handle all of the set up.

I want to start off by saying I absolutely LOVE the venue! It's beautiful, it has a lot of history in my husband's family, and the venue itself is versatile - you can set it up in a bunch of ways.

The venue allows you to choose whatever caterer you want and you can bring your own booze as long as you have a licensed bartender to serve it. You can't use their chairs outside, so we had to rent tables, chairs, and a tent, which adds up quickly. Also, with our Saturday wedding, they aren't very flexible about letting you start early since it's a historic home and open to the public.

My biggest problem with the venue was mainly just the coordinator. She seemed really friendly and helpful... until we signed the check. Then, she became aloof, unresponsive, unhelpful, and borderline rude. She didn't keep her word on a few of occasions. She was vague (I think on purpose) when she knew she couldn't give you what you wanted/needed. The general feeling that I got from her was that she could care less about my wedding. And when you pay a venue a couple thousand dollars to use it, I think they should at least have someone who pretends to care...
