Born and raised in the Appalachian mountains and surrounded by the southern world charm of horse races, mint juleps, and bourbon bread pudding in Kentucky, Event Planner, Cynthia Combs started her career caught up in the world of classic fashion and detailed design. With a background in architecture & graphic design, she has an innate talent for personally creating events from the overall environmental design aspect down to the very small details, such as invitations and party favors. Since recently returning to her southern roots, after years of designing in the fast-paced trendy and glamorous world of Los Angeles and spending excessive time exploring all of California's diverse landscapes, she has brought with her a fresh, hip, and environmentally friendly approach to events. Her balance of three-dimensional space planning and two-dimensional design is the perfect blend to create an overall environment of harmony and just plain visual excitement. It's easier than it seems to go green at any event from corporate to private: Cynthia likes to promote the use of recycled paper and soy-based inks for invitations, brochures, itineraries, etc. ; using more potted plants, rather than fresh cut flowers; using rental service ware, tablecloths instead of disposable products; recycle all paper, plastic, and glass goods that were used unavoidably; choosing a location for ceremonies that can also accommodate for reception space to cut down on travel emissions.
