Mimosa Barn is a historic farm wedding venue in Cape Charles, Virginia. Situated on 17 acres of private forest and grassland, the property boasts exciting and scenic wildlife. Couples and their guests can enjoy unspoiled views of the landscape with the possibility of observing a majestic heron or fierce bald eagle.

The venue consists of 2,200 square feet of entertainment space and can accommodate both indoor and outdoor celebrations for a full weekend rental. The renovated barn house maintains a simple elegance through romantic white paneling, large windows, and a spacious balcony. The happy couple can organize an intimate waterside ceremony, set up a tent for a picturesque outdoor reception, or make use of the ample space available in the beautifully refurbished barn. The barn can accommodate up to 100 guests in a seated celebration, while outdoor tents can seat over 300 guests. There is also a reception and lounge area ideal for greeting loved ones, and a dressing suite with an outdoor patio for the wedding party. Other amenities include a 220-square foot stage, a built-in bar, a sound system, and a fire pit.

Mimosa Barn is happy to host all of the important occasions leading up to your wedding, such as the engagement party and rehearsal dinner. They can take care of sound and lighting and will do their utmost to accommodate outside vendors so couples can choose according to their theme. In addition, they allow newlyweds to use the scenic surroundings and original outbuildings of the farm as a backdrop for sensational wedding photographs. Couples have full use of the barn and grounds from noon Friday until noon on Sunday to set up as they desire for a customized celebration.

History

The property was built in the 1860s, with a complete refurbishment in 2013. It contains many of the original farm buildings, including the corn crib and old milking station. To make the most of these authentic structures, a catering prep area was inserted into the corn crib and the milking station became a converted fire pit.
