ABOUT…NICOLE BURBANK EVENTS
Your wedding should reflect you and your relationship so I truly put my heart and soul into ensuring the big day as well as the journey is not only smooth sailing but actually fun. What did you say?! Yes, that’s right. FUN. I pride myself on being able to keep my chill in any moment and think on my feet, kind of important skills for a planner and florist. That kind of energy is what makes planning and the wedding day actually enjoyable for clients and fellow vendors. I am a strong believer that you should focus only on what matters to you by incorporating all the most meaningful details and nothing that doesn’t speak to you. Remember that there is nothing you are required to do to celebrate your love… other than maybe actually get married. So whether that’s walking each other down the aisle, having a brunch reception, swapping bridesmaid bouquets for clutches, or nixing the garter toss (I beg of you), you do you. There’s no other relationship like yours and your wedding should be just as unique and personal. Not to say you should pull out all the trendy stops but intentionally choose ways to make it an extension of you. I’m always down to get weird and artsy too, just putting that out there. There should be a sweet harmony of sentimentality, design and logistics to create the most memorable moments in the spirit of love, joy and connection… and I’m here to help make that happen. Let’s tell your story.
WEDDINGS FOR GOOD
As part of my initiative to pay it forward, 5% of profits are donated to charitable organizations. I have my favorites but let me know if any of them are near and dear to your heart!
This is the business of love, and as an ally, to me that means love for all. This is a safe space of inclusion and equality. Period.
From personal to business, I strive to incorporate sustainable practices whenever possible to play my part in caring for the home we all share.
…NICOLE
This business is my passion project and I’m constantly trying to better myself to be the best vendor for you. It is a privilege and an honor to play a part in so many important days. Oh, did you come here to hear me gush about weddings or learn something about me? Ok, ok, let’s see… like my design style, there are many sides to my personality! My happiest place is deep in the great outdoors but I’ve learned I can get a bit bougie too and enjoy a good occasional pampering. I love all things vintage (half my furniture and playlists are at least 50 years old) but my personal style has recently become more contemporary with a touch of playful (albeit mostly stained since having a baby). Dance has always been a big part of my life… after over sixteen years doing ballet and tap, I taught children’s classes for a couple years then got into swing dancing, which is how I ended up meeting my husband! I’ve definitely got the travel bug and have had the good fortune to travel to some incredible places, witness breathtaking sights and have unforgettably epic experiences. And yet, being a proud San Diego native, I can’t see myself living anywhere else. Since becoming a mom to the most darling and rambunctious little boy, Harvey, in 2020, buying a little house with endless projects in 2021, and continuing to build my own business, sometimes I feel like there’s not much time for myself. But, whenever I do have some “spare” time you can find me at a yoga class, learning to garden, picnicking with friends, hitting the beach, trying out a new recipe, or sitting in a cafe with a pastry and matcha latte in hand. Some things I value most: kindness, genuineness, humility, and creativity. Some things I don’t like: pretty much the opposite of all that… and pickles, gross. I’m one to skip the small talk so tell me something deep and spiritual. On the other hand, I can also be super silly, like, embarrassingly so - just ask my husband or turn on some 90s pop to see it firsthand. Overall, I’m just aspiring to be a good, healthy, well-rounded human living a modest but full life… who can also make a bomb chocolate cake.
