Obsidian Photo was born in the natural landscapes of Vermont, but has relocated to North Carolina! It doesn't really matter where I am, though, because I am always happy and willing to travel. I've photographed weddings, elopements and couples in India, Nepal, Bali, Thailand and throughout the East Coast of the US. I strive to capture genuine and unique moments, celebrating love and adventure together. I'm committed to getting to know my couples beforehand, so that when the special days come around, I can deliver timeless and authentic images that can be cherished for generations to come.

I have a special passion for alternatively styled and creative events, ones that break the bounds of normalcy and capture the true essence of a couple. You want a black dress instead of a white one? GREAT. Succulents in your bouquet? AWESOME. Going to ride away on a Motorcycle? Can I ride along next to you and capture your dress flowing in the wind?

I thrive with rustic, woodland and outdoor sessions, harnessing the beauty of the natural elements. I've studied photography while living in the dark and moody temperment of Vermont, so when the clouds roll in, I don't panic - Let's grab some umbrellas and do this thing! The sense of humor that nature tends to throw at us sometimes can often add unpredictable drama and turn an ordinary sunset into something extra memorable. And when we're getting rained on, it's hard not to laugh naturally.

I take what I do very seriously, and I am forever my own worst critic, so you can rest assured that I will ALWAYS bring 110% to every shoot I do. I want everyone to come away happy and smiling.

Services Offered

Obsidian Photo approaches photography with a natural, moody style. The photographs are going to reflect the day, rain or shine, because in 20 years, you're going to want to remember it as it truly was. After consulting with me on your event and making sure our styles blend, you will be able to book your engagement, elopement and wedding sessions. Couples may choose to book Obsidian Photo for half-day or full-day services, with various wedding packages available, whether in Vermont or another destination (take me with you somewhere beautiful!).
