About

Why have your event in an ordinary facility that looks like all the rest when you and your guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience in a historic landmark? Make your next event memorable at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center.

The historic Page-Walker is a beautiful location for weddings and receptions. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows and fine art provide an elegant, intimate and charming venue. The beautifully landscaped garden area offers an excellent setting for wedding ceremonies and gatherings.

Town of Cary Founder, Allison Francis Page, built the Page-Walker in 1868 as a railroad hotel. The Page-Walker Hotel is listed on the National Register for Historic Places. A complete restoration in the 1990s converted the building into an arts and history center for the citizens of Cary. Today the center is alive with classes, events, performances, meetings, corporate retreats, receptions and exhibitions, including fine arts exhibits featuring local and regional artists’ works.

The venue was pretty, but we were suprised by some horrible artwork in the main gallery. We had to cover up the picture over the fireplace with a curtain. Lovely setting, but very pricey. In addition, I felt that they kept coming up with reasons to charge us more money. We were told the piano could be moved to the back of the room, but then at the last moment after we had made our plans and seating arrangements, we were told that we had to pay an extra $100 to get it tuned again if we moved it! Come on! As a former piano major I can tell you that we moved Grand Pianos all the time for concerts, and didn't need to retune them. At the last moment, somebody wanted to rent out the 3rd floor for a birthday party at the same time as our wedding, so we also had to pay to rent that floor even though we didn't use it. I understand this, but it just ended up costing us MUCH more than we had expected.
