The Plains Art Museum was a dream space for our wedding reception! The planning process was super smooth, so when it came to the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worry about a thing! Serena was amazing to work with and made sure that we had everything we needed. Also, the space is AMAZINGLY gorgeous! We loved that we had the cocktail/social hour on the first floor, dinner on the third floor, and then the dancing back on the first floor (so did our guests!). We were even able to rent out the galleries so that our guests could walk through to see the artwork during the social hour. We would HIGHLY recommend!!

BEAUTIFUL Venue, Fantastic Communication & Presence

Right in the heart of downtown Fargo, the Plains Art Museum is a stunning venue that has everything you need for a beautiful wedding. We got married in May 2023 and had our reception here, and it made all our dreams come true! With beautiful architecture it really helps you save on decorating costs because you really want to showcase everything the building already has to offer. We had our dinner and speeches up on the 3rd floor and dancing on the 1st floor - we personally loved this separation because it kept everyone together and close, and it helped getting people dancing through the whole night! Serena was a breeze to work with, fantastic communication - prompt, friendly, informative & was very present - she made sure to check in any time we were there and was ready to answer any & all questions! Book your wedding here, you won't regret it :)

Micro-wedding of our dreams

The Plains Art staff are the kindest, most accommodating, and helpful people my (now) husband and I have met! We found ourselves in a pickle-- due to COVID lockdowns around the holidays near our original venue, we were left with the choice to either find a new location with less than three weeks to plan, or postpone. Due to COVID, we really wanted a micro-wedding to celebrate safely with our immediate family and bridal party only, and keeping our original date was important to us. Plains Art made it happen in a pinch. Serena and Penny made it SO EASY-- they were incredibly responsive, provided a vendor list and gave recommendations, and sent floor plans and info packets to talk us through everything. Our day turned out absolutely perfect thanks to them, even though it was entirely planned remotely with very little time. The flow of events was perfect, and the museum itself made for a stunning wedding album.

Despite our wedding being a complete 180 from our original "vision", we would not have had it any other way. The Plains Art Museum provided the perfect canvas to paint the beginning of our next story.

Her favorite thing about Plains Art Museum is the beauty of the building itself. The historic character of the original brick, wood floors, and large windows offer a versatile backdrop that suits a number of decorating styles.

The Plains Art Museum is the only venue you should consider if you want an indoor, modern wedding. There really aren't any venues around that are quite like it! Bonus: if you get married in the winter- you'll have an amazing indoor space to take photos all day, instead of standing around outside freezing like all the other couples who booked a less-than-gorgeous venue that day! I totally recommend Plains Art Museum for your wedding day!
