About

**The safety and wellbeing of our guests, team members and small mountain town are our top priority. We have been working hard to ensure a safe yet welcoming environment for our guests as we navigate reopening with restrictions still in place. Sleeping Lady is currently open for overnight guests, as well as dinner and breakfast by reservation in the Kingfisher Restaurant. O'Grady's Pantry is currently offering to-go breakfast and lunch, which can be enjoyed on our sunny patio. The Play Barn and Library are open at reduced capacities. The pools and sauna will remain closed until further notice. In our current modified phase 1, gatherings are allowed outdoors only, with 5 or fewer people outside of your household per week. We look forward to seeing you soon!**

Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort is a destination wedding venue located two hours from Seattle in the heart of Washington’s Cascade Mountains, just minutes from the town of Leavenworth. Set on sixty-seven acres, on the banks of Icicle Creek at the entrance to Icicle Canyon, the resort offers couples and their guests an uncommon wedding experience during any season of the year. Sleeping Lady is a certified B Corporation.

Facilities and Capacity

For an outdoor ceremony, the Meadow Stage on the banks of Icicle Creek, or the Knoll above the creek, both offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including the Sleeping Lady mountain profile. The Chapel Theater, dating back to the 1950s when the property was owned by the Yakima Diocese and operated as Camp Field, a youth camp, and the Salmon Gallery are connected by a grand granite staircase that provides an elegant setting, reflecting the essence of the Northwest. Its facilities are best suited for weddings between 60 and 150, but the venue can accommodate up to 200 guests as needed. ***Please note, we are currently working on updating our venue occupancy limits to accommodate social distancing recommendations.

Services Offered

Sleeping Lady is a full-service destination resort. A consultation can be held to inquire about the services offered by the Sleeping Lady.

Cuisine

Sleeping Lady is renowned for menus featuring the freshest Northwest ingredients, many of which are sourced from their own fully certified organic garden. Their talented culinary team can prepare a full range of menus from light hors d’oeuvres on the Kingfisher Terrace to elaborate feasts in Salmon Gallery. Sleeping Lady also offers a wide selection of premium wines, artisan cocktails, liquors, and beers. All food served, with the exception of your wedding cake, can be provided by Sleeping Lady. Sleeping Lady is a package property. A bed, dinner, and breakfast package will be offered to your guests not attending the rehearsal dinner. A bed and breakfast package will be offered to your wedding guests. Meals in the Kingfisher Restaurant are chef’s choice and are served a combination of family style and plated in Kingfisher’s lodge-style setting which features exposed wood beams, river rock, and sweeping views of Icicle Canyon. In the summer months, the terrace and the creek side meadow are available for outdoor seating.

Accommodations

Sleeping Lady offers 58 guest rooms in six clusters with two standalone cabins. The clusters, made up of six to ten private rooms, feature private baths, spacious shared decks, and a welcoming décor that reflects the mountain elegance of Sleeping Lady’s architecture. The Rookery is standalone bunkhouse that can accommodate up to 8 people in bunk beds. It also includes two showers, a mini bar and a private deck that's a great spot for your wedding party to get ready or just enjoy time together throughout the weekend. The Eyrie is our honeymoon suite, complete with jetted tub, King sized bed and private deck looking out to the deer trails and woods beyond.

History

Sleeping Lady and the land it occupies enjoy a rich and storied past. From the area’s Native American roots, to the 1930s when it was home to Camp Icicle and the Civilian Conservation Corps, to its role today as a leading Northwest destination, Sleeping Lady embodies the natural beauty and history of Leavenworth and the Wenatchee Valley. Effective in 2019, Sleeping Lady’s beloved owner, Harriet Bullitt transferred ownership of the Sleeping Lady business to Icicle Fund. This means that if you choose to hold your wedding at the resort, you’ll be supporting the Icicle Fund. This, in turn, ensures that Icicle Fund can help even more local nonprofits in providing wildfire preparedness, arts for kids and adults, hiking trails, open spaces and many other community benefits that enhance the quality of life where you love to visit.

Incredible

Our wedding weekend was everything we hoped it would be. Huge thank you to Kelsey and Michael for coordinating everything for us and for being so easy to communicate with. We had the perfect day and my husband and I were able to focus on each other and our families without worrying about a thing all day, pure perfection.

We picked flowers down the road from Sleeping Lady the day before for all our table arrangements and my bouquet @ Roots Flowers and Produce.

Our photographers were also amazing and get all the photo credit: @ Anda Photography

I had both my ceremony and reception there. It was gorgeous! And the staff is amazing - I love Rachel and Michael was an amazing officiant. I highly recommend this place. I had a winter wedding (which was stunning! but summer weddings are wonderful too).
If you are looking for a great location with amazing support staff (and delicious food) choose Sleeping Lady!

We could not have hoped for anything better after we chose this venue. We were married at the Sleeping Lady on January 5th, in the snow! The Sleeping Lady has a beautiful meadow on their property that overlooks the Icicle Creek - however during the winter they let the snow pile up and wait until spring to manage it again. When we conacted them asking about our options, they volunteered to groom and prepare the meadow for us since we were adamant about an outdoor ceremony, and they even brought in hay bales for us. We paid a VERY reasonable fee for the bales and didn't have to do anything to organize that and our ceremony site was so perfect the day of the wedding. We held our reception indoors at the Salmon Gallery on the same property and everything was amazing. Catering was exactly on time as scheduled, the food was TO DIE FOR. We had an immense amount of compliments on our food. The Sleeping Lady provides a brides room with your space rental, and there is a honeymoon lodge on the property that was a gorgeous little retreat.
Most of our family opted to stay at least one night and breakfast is included with the room rates, so we got to enjoy amazing breakfast on site with our family both mornings we were there.
Thank you so much to Michael, who got us introduced to the property and was very helpful with arranging the initial contract; and then HUGE thanks to Rachel, who is the on-site coordinator and was willing to help us with the timing of our ceremony and was on top of EVERYTHING. We were never left disappointed, everything was meticulously cared for, and we had responses from Rachel immediately with any questions leading up to our event.
If you are looking for a destination spot outside of Seattle, like the idea of selecting a venue that your guests can stay at (plus they have an on-site bar!), and want awesome service... Call them and ask for Michael and Rachel!
