Hi! I'm Ellie Fuqua principal photographer, and founder of Sun & Sparrow Photography. Born and raised in Southern California, I reside in the greater Los Angeles area. While I'm interested in many things, my greatest passion is my love of family and fine art photography through weddings, engagements, maternity, newborns and families. When I'm not capturing life’s most beautiful moments, I'm spending exploring the beauty of Southern California and crating in-depth conversations with the loved ones close to me.

Ellie is simply the best!
- Professional: Ellie was attentive to our needs and gave us plenty of prep ahead of our shoots. She was early at both locations to scout out the best spots for our photos. It was also quite hot on our wedding day and she gave us plenty of time to take breaks while keeping us on track — she did so well that we were actually ahead of schedule!
- Photos: Ellie’s skills and care are so evident in the photos she takes. As two introverts who don’t have our photos taken very often, she offered relatable cues to get the perfect shot every time! Her editing and ability to frame a shot is outstanding. For context, we got married in a Japanese garden and she was able to capture the essence of the garden and us.
- Vibe: Ellie cultivated feelings of safety and peace for both our engagement and wedding photos. From the moment we first had our consultation call, she was able to tap into our love for each other and we were sold! She’s non-judgmental where we were able to be our goofy selves and she was able to perfectly capture the warmth, joy, and excitement that we have for this next chapter in our lives.
Overall, we adored Ellie and Julie and would 100% recommend her and her team for any major life events you want to be captured.
As if by magic ✨
It was truly magic that they were available on our wedding day, since we only had 3 months to plan our wedding, and I was doing most of the planning from my country (Mexico). Ellie was super attentive and organized! She scheduled a consultation with me over the phone so we could discuss on my vision, budget, questions, etc, etc. But her attentiveness didn’t stop there! A couple weeks before my wedding, I was feeling very nervous that we wouldn’t have enough time to take all the pictures that I wanted, so Ellie and I organized a coffee date where she really went out of her way and served as a photographer, wedding planner and a friend! I will forever be thankful ❤️
It was amazing seeing Ellie doing her job during the ceremony and reception, she was moving chairs out of her way, directing people, changing cameras! She was doing it all and she was amazing at it.
I even remember she helped with my hair when my headpiece was acting out, she handed me bobby pins that she had in an emergency kit, phew she was prepared 🤩.
I wouldn’t think twice about booking with her again and recommended her to family and friends, she is a great person to work with and just a great human being in general.

They are not just concerned about getting great pictures, they truly care that the bride and groom have an amazing wedding day. And then those pictures! Holy moly, when I saw how gorgeous they came out, I was in awe. They took a beautiful wedding and turned the pictures into a true work of art. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Tiffani and Ellie of Sun & Sparrow at our joint work wedding this past Sunday. As an event planner, it is crucial to have professional vendors that know what they are doing and are able to handle timelines diplomatically. These type of vendors can either make or break an event - good vendors make events exponentially better and this duo is definitely good! They are fast, efficient, communicative, and extremely easy to work with. They work hard for their clients - I plan on recommending them to future clients and sincerely hope I get the chance to work with them again even though we are based out of two different parts of California!
