About The Bottle House

The iconic Coca-Cola symbol, etched in sandstone, has watched over the corner of 2nd and Walnut since 1941 when Jack Going and S.E. Elmore established a home for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in downtown Ottawa, Kansas. Their vision brought refreshment and enjoyment to the friendly midwestern community and created a remarkable building that not only housed the secret to the Coca-Cola formula, but also a commitment to the people they were serving.

Open to public viewing, the remarkable bottling innovations were housed behind large floor to ceiling windows which allowed spectators to observe the process from the sidewalk. In the years to follow, this historic building continued to support and welcome the community in a variety of fashions from a local Town and Country Supply store to an Antique Mall and soda shop. As time passed the hint of historic origins were covered by "modernization" and sadly overlooked.

In 2016 the building was acquired by a group of local investors who were committed to bringing the building back to its historic roots with 21st century luxuries. Today, The Bottle House is a dramatic 10,000 sq. ft. event venue with rustic industrial decor. Its original exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors, and open wood beam ceilings are an awe inspiring backdrop to its state of the art audio visual system and custom copper bar. The spacious interior is a welcoming environment ready to play a role in the next chapter of Your Story.
