The Civic Club of Harrisburg is a charming three-story Tudor-style manor that features a dramatic upper level ballroom and formal entertaining rooms on the first floor. The Overlook Ballroom stays true to its name and offers panoramic views of the Susquehanna River and the lovely private garden. The Civic Club of Harrisburg can has a capacity of 150 to 200 guests and you can enjoy both the dramatic ballroom and the formal, half acre garden. The ballroom features tall windows, elegant chandeliers, and a 300 square foot stage. The first floor of the building offers four rooms with easy access to the porch and garden areas. You can also admire the historic, handcrafted woodwork throughout the building. The large powder room can be used as a bridal suite if so desired. With both indoor and outdoor space, you can enjoy The Civic Club of Harrisburg no matter what season your wedding will take place.

History
The Civic Club of Harrisburg traces back to the early settlers of Harrisburg, and once belonged to William Reynolds Fleming in the early 20th century. Fleming called the home “Overlook” because it sits high on the banks of the Susquehanna River. The stately Tudor-style, stone structure, was often referred to as a “manor house” in historic documents. In 1914, Fleming’s widow, Virginia Hammond Fleming, decided to name the building The Civic Club of Harrisburg. The full title was given to the club in 1916. From then until now, the building has been maintained by the club’s members.
