About
Experience the quiet ambience of the historic Community House in the picturesque town of Hamilton. In 1921, the Mandell family of Hamilton commissioned architect Guy Lowell to design a building in memory of the eight men from the two towns who gave their lives during WWI. Lowell is most recognized for his design of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts building on Huntington Avenue and the New York State Supreme Court building.
Ballroom ~ Designed in the style of a 1920s ballroom, this room features wonderful architectural details, hardwood floor, stage with baby grand piano, and Palladium doors to the outside portico. The Main Hall adjoins the intimate Library. This space along with the Library accommodates 120 guests for seated dining or 160 guests for a cocktail reception.
Library ~ An intimate, oak-paneled room with working fireplace. The library is furnished with Mandell family pieces.
Conference room ~ Located on the lower level, this room was once a four lane bowling alley. Today it is a bright, modern space with skylights, couch, tv, kitchenette, and access to a city garden.
The grounds may be tented for larger events.
The Community House provides dining tables, gold chavari chairs, banquet tables, sweetheart table, and a cake table.
The Community House is handicap accessible and fully air-conditioned.
The Community House's has a list of exclusive caterers who will create an elegant and unique event for your special day. We also provide the bartenders and all alcoholic beverages for a hosted or cash bar.
There is free, off-street parking in 3 lots. The Community House is within walking distance of the commuter rail in Hamilton.
