The Andrew Simmerman Band, comprised entirely of Indiana University music students, began as an acoustic pop trio with piano, guitar, and bass. Over time, more players have joined the group, but because each performance has an optimum instrumentation, the band's lineup varies to include any combination of guitar, bass, drums, auxiliary percussion, trumpet, saxophone, always in addition to Andrew on vocals and keyboards. They excel in both the jazz and pop/rock idioms, which allows them to provide appropriate dinner/cocktail jazz, dance-able swing tunes (a la Sinatra or Buble), and/or high-energy dance music (funk, contemporary pop hits, oldies, and more).

The band knows over 100 covers and also can play originals; if requested, they will gladly send a repertoire list so you can hand-pick the songs for your event! Additionally, they often learn songs for specific events (although the number of songs depends on how much advance notice is given). We also take requests live, although frankly, the audience generally asks for songs the booker has already requested :-) We are willing to travel, schedule-permitting, and we are available as a group year-round!
