We hired The Rhythm Kings after we saw them play a gig at another event, and it was the best decision we made. They brought so much energy to our wedding reception and we've never seen so many people out on the dance floor at a wedding enjoying themselves. We are not huge dance people, but we were out there as much as we could be and had a blast. They did an amazing job playing to the crowd and their selection and mastery of the music was incredible. They were great to work with and were excellent at communicating with us leading up to the wedding. We highly recommend having a band over a DJ as they just have so much more to offer, especially when you hire the right people. These guys know what they are doing and will not disappoint. We are so glad we chose them for our wedding reception!

HIRING THIS BAND WAS THE BEST DECISION WE MADE.
We had hired another local band over a year before our big day, because a close friend of mine was a member, and we loved (and still love) their music. Unfortunately, health issues came up for the lead singer the week of our wedding, and we found ourselves not only being crushed that a great person was in the hospital, but we were not able to have our "dream band" perform at our wedding. I frantically started researching local soul/funk bands and was not surprised when everyone seemed to be booked for our event (which was only 4 days away). I contacted the Rhythm Kings via their Facebook page and received a quick response to my desperate plea for help. Initially, I was informed that the lead singer (Marcell) was booked the evening of our wedding, but an attempt could be made to see if the rest of the band was available and a former band member could stand in as the front man. I was beyond excited when a few hours later, Phil let me know that Marcell could fit our event in before another performance. I was forwarded to the drummer, Lon, who quickly reached out to me and confirmed some details for the big day and answered any questions I had. The band showed up 4 days later to set up, were extremely polite, friendly, and excited to be a part of our day. EVERYONE raved about the band. Despite the smaller venue and increasing temperature in the reception hall, they jammed out and got everyone on the dance floor. In the end, this band could have simply told me that they were unable to help me out, but instead they went out of their way to make it to our event and seriously save our wedding.
