The perfect venue for nature lovers

I grew up camping at this spot every summer, as this is my family’s property. But seeing the property now with all the hard work they have put into making it a beautiful venue is incredible. My husband and I live in Kenai, Alaska, and while Alaska is so dang gorgeous, we knew right when we got engaged we had to have our wedding at Twenty Odd Base Camp. Not just because it’s my family’s property, but for so many other reasons too. One big thing that can stress a bride out like no other is the weather- you can’t control it. But western Montana is known for some of the best summer weather you could ask for. TOBC was also very centrally located for all of our guests to travel to. We had friends and family come from Alaska, Texas, Colorado, Washington, etc. We encouraged our guests to bring campers, RVs and tents because the venue has an abundance of area to use. Our guests had a blast getting to camp for the weekend and make a fun trip out of it. There are also plenty of Airbnb’s and hotels near by. My husband and I stayed in the Ursa cabin which is so beautiful, and felt like a mini honeymoon. It was our area to spend time alone together and get to relax. I also used that cabin for the girls to get ready in the morning of the wedding and it was perfect. It has the best photo opportunities right behind the porch. This property is so flexible for different ceremony sites depending what you want for your background, or you can have the owners decide (like I did), so it’s less decisions for the bride :) Antler Dance Hall for the reception is so perfect. You can make it as formal or informal as you want, it has its own Saloon, full kitchen for caterers, and many options for decorating and making it your own. During the reception we took a ride up the mountain on the side-by-side for sunset pictures. Our photographer was in awe. He said it was his favorite sunset pictures he’s taken so far. I have gotten a couple sneak peak pictures back, and I’m anxiously waiting for the rest! Every single one of our guests said the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and everyone had the best time. Because of my Streich family and all their hard work, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

GORGEOUS Location! Amazing owners!

We got married here on memorial day weekend. The weather could not have been more perfect, the views were AMAZING, everyone had a fantastic time, and you definitely feel like you're in a very special quiet, intimate, "off the beaten path" type of place when you are there. TOBC is a few miles away from Trout Creek, which is a small town but it does have a lakefront hotel with cabins, and another hotel in town for your guests. There is also PLENTY of room for people to camp on the property too, giving your outdoorsy guests the option to save some money on a hotel or Airbnb, especially if they are traveling quite a ways (our guests came from all over WA, even Boston, and L.A). Family/close friends can stay on the property in the 2 cabins or "buckhorn suite" apartment.

The "Antler dance hall" is set in a beautiful place beneath the mountains, and our ceremony was in a meadow, steps away from the reception making planning simple. There are other ceremony sites on the property as well, take your pick! The highlight? the property owners have an ATV that can take you and your photographer to the top of the mountain at sunset to get THE BEST photos you could ever ask for. Views of mountains, grassy meadows, water, wildflowers.. seriously stunning!!. PLUS the property owners (the Streichs) are the nicest, most attentive, most accommodating people ever. Working with them was the best. They have built and maintained everything on this amazing property themselves while protecting the local wildlife and natural beauty of the area. We feel very grateful for them and all their hard work:) We will be back to visit and play as much as possible as you truly cannot find anywhere in the Seattle area this quiet, relaxing, and secluded. You really can get away from the hustle and bustle of life and renew/ rejuvenate with nature. Check it out!!!
