Welcome to The Vanderbilt, an iconic mansion located in charming Downtown Newport. Channeling Gilded Age Glamour, this glamorous mansion combines the rich history of the property with Auberge Resorts Collection’s passion for service & hospitality.
Originally built in 1909 by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, a scion of the influential Vanderbilt family, our resort is a vintage mansion restored to its former glory. Today, The Vanderbilt resort pays homage to a glamorous era bygone, offering a setting reminiscent to an exclusive private home, but complete with modern-day luxuries.
Just minutes away from the Newport waterfront, The Vanderbilt is one of the town’s best kept secrets. The mansion comprises 33 luxury rooms & suites, a spa, fitness center, indoor & outdoor pools, and a classic New England Restaurant – The Dining Room.
Our various event spaces are perfect for weddings and auxiliary wedding events between 15 - 100 people:
- The Garden Terrace - Beautiful al fresco dining area surrounded by historic brick walls, trees and florals (Capacity: 60 Guests-100 guests for a standing reception)
- The Garden Poolside - Summer poolside area adjacent to The Garden (Capacity: 15-25 Guests)
- The Conservatory - Lovely tea room filled with natural light & overlooking the Trinity Church (Capacity: 20 - 40 Guests)
- The Dining Room - Classic New England dining room channeling the spirit of the Gilded Age (Capacity: 50 for a seated dinner - 85 Guests for a standing reception)
- The Snooker Room - Perfect alcove space to host an intimate event or dinner (Capacity: 12 - 14 Guests)
- The Victory Room - Private board room ideal for conferences, meetings and a back up rain plan (Capacity: 35 - 120 Guests)
