Zolna Yachts specializes in private yacht charters on the San Diego Bay. I’m Shari Zolna and my husband and business partner is Amos Zolna. We have revolutionized the way San Diego visitors and locals alike look at chartering yachts on the San Diego Bay.

It is with pleasure that we provide a truly unique and wonderful way for all our guests to experience yachting. We’re proud to be San Diego’s most exciting yacht charter company since 2007, offering an extraordinary venue for weddings, corporate meetings and private celebrations aboard the stunning Nerissa Motor Yacht, offering unparalleled customer service and a motor yacht like no other in Southern CA.

Amos and I moved from New York City to San Diego in 1995. We have a beautiful daughter, Annabelle, who just graduated from UCSB. We have a rescued German Shepherd, coincidentally named “Bella” whom we adopted after having successfully found “fur-ever” homes for her 10 gorgeous pups.

Amos and I instantly fell in love with everything this awesome city has to offer. It was simply a pleasure getting used to San Diego’s great year round climate, and we were especially drawn to it’s unique coastal way of life. After many years of owning vacation rental properties on the island of Maui, Amos came up with the crazy idea to combine our knowledge of the vacation rental business with our passion for boating. And so we did. In March of 2007, we opened San Diego Bay Vacation, which eventually became Zolna Yachts, a unique San Diego business offering yacht charters and lodging aboard yachts and a Houseboat. We decided to sell everything except the Nerissa in 2020. Our sole focus now, the Nerissa.

I’m typically the lead stew aboard the stunning Nerissa, our 49 passenger motor yacht. Amos spends most of his time in charge of the maintenance of the yacht and crews with us on occasion.

Captain Jules is a San Diego local, born and raised. She describes herself as a natural water lover from birth, surfing, fishing, and being surrounded by water and nature is where she’s the happiest. She made her entrance to the maritime industry at 18 years old, working as a cook on a fishing boat then quickly transitioning to deckhand, falling in love with fishing. She accrued enough sea time to qualify for her license. and has been gaining experience and credentials over the last 13 years as a captain. She’s worked for high end cruise ships as an exhibition team leader, taking people to see glaciers in Alaska, spotting orcas, and rare bird life, to yacht transport from Mexico and Puerta Vallarta. She’s run fast jet boats, slow ferry boats, dinner cruise and harbor tour boats and of course whale watching. She spent over 10 years as a wildlife and whale watch captain, loving every day of it.

They say “You’ll never work a day in your life if you love what you do”, and that explains her role here on the Nerissa Yacht as a Captain. Jules said “I’ve worked on many other yachts in San Diego, but I can honestly say this is the one I enjoy the most. It is far superior in luxury, customer service, knowledgeable and experienced crew that make it a very smooth operation. Also the recognizable attention to detail and ambiance, guided by Shari and Amos, really providing an unforgettable and spectacular experience on the water. It’s truly as much fun for me as it is for my passengers cruising on the Nerissa Yacht.
