      Wedding Décor and Weather

The weather in Utah varies dramatically depending on your location and elevation. The weather is, on average, temperate and dry, but you should be prepared for just about anything depending on where you are. Spring is particularly unpredictable, with an equally likely chance of snow or warm sun. Because of this, plan for wedding décor that is both beautiful and functional in case the weather surprises you. For an outdoor wedding, an enclosed tent is priceless, as it will protect you from the elements, whatever they may be. Decorate with swaths of rich fabrics in jewel tones in the winter, or for summer, floats of gossamer chiffon in white. Umbrellas in coordinating colors will come in handy no matter the weather and can shield guests from the sun or protect formal wear from the elements. Know your location well and plan for anything, and you'll be ready for the picture-perfect Utah wedding.

      Food and Music

Traditional foods in Utah are modest, but filling, often coming from traditions of the Mormon Church, and you'll find certain Utah favorites around every corner. Fry sauce is a Utah standard, as are middle-American standards like Jell-O salad and a potato casserole named Funeral Potatoes. But, don't underestimate the foodie culture in Utah. In the larger cities, you'll find award-winning restaurants and world-renowned chefs, as well as a lively brewing culture. No matter what kind of food you want to serve at your Utah wedding, Popular Utah wedding catering companies can make it happen. After you've set your menu, you'll want the right soundtrack for your event. Popular Utah wedding bands provide many different kinds of music, allowing you to set the mood for an impeccable wedding in Utah.

      Travel Information

Utah weddings are the second least expensive in the nation, coming in at just over thirteen thousand, on average. Weddings in more urban areas will run higher, as will peak season weddings. Plan your wedding in Utah during off seasons and in less popular locales to save money. This may also save you on travel costs, though with a variety of activities available in all seasons in Utah, tourists fly in year-round. Luckily, Salt Lake City International Airport is a western travel hub and is rated highly for flights that remain on time. If you need further information about travel in Utah, seek out one Utah's Visitor and Travel Bureaus or Welcome Centers.

      Marriage License

A marriage license in Utah will cost you between $45 and $50, but bring cash, as some counties require it. You'll also need a government issued ID or birth certificate, your Social Security number, and the birthplaces and full names of your parents. Utah doesn't have a waiting period, but be sure to allow a few days to get your license before the wedding. Your marriage license must be returned to the Court Clerk within 30 days of the date of issue.
