    Founders Hall + Best Impressions Made My Wedding Dreams Come True!

    Being a bride-to-be is stressful enough but throw in a global pandemic and the stress level triples. I am forever grateful for Abby Schwab, Founders Hall, and Best Impressions Catering for making my dream wedding come to life amidst the chaos.

    Once we toured Founders Hall, I knew that no other venue would compare for our New Years Eve wedding. It is a stunning venue with little to no decorations needed as this event space comes to life on its own.

    Abby was truly a dream to work with. She was incredibly responsive, attentive, and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding or event.

    The Best Impressions team was amazing from beginning to end. The food was spectacular and I kid you not, one of the servers was waiting at the door with hors d'eourves and drinks for my husband and I when we returned from taking pictures. They were so attentive and helpful, I was blown away.

    If you're considering booking this venue for your upcoming wedding or event, I cannot recommend the team enough. You will not regret it!

    Wedding Of Our Dreams

    Abby made our wedding planning experience a breeze. She was so easy to work with and so kind! Everything we asked for she made happen and we literally had the best day of our lives. We were so happy with everything and EVERYONE loved our venue! Thank you so much Abby!

    Excellent Experience with Founders Hall!

    We can't say enough great things about Founders Hall!!! We chose this venue for our wedding reception, partially because of how breathtaking the space is (the high ceiling with uplighting at night and marble floors are just gorgeous!), and partially because they were the largest space in uptown Charlotte that could accommodate our 250 guest count! We were so impressed with Jenny and Mariah's responsiveness, hard work, and attention to detail in every step of the planning process (even down to the littlest details, like choosing the perfect colored table linens and pipe and drape). We were also pleased with how much we were able to get for our money with this venue - they included a lot of rentals in their base price, which several other venues did not offer to do.

    The event itself was exactly the way we wanted it to be! We loved the food provided by Aria (Founders Hall's exclusive event caterer) and all of the service staff were kind and efficient as well. We would absolutely recommend this classic Charlotte venue to anyone looking to host a big, fun event with a classy uptown vibe - you won't be disappointed by Founders Hall!

    Perfect Wedding Day

    Choosing to have our wedding at Founders Hall was the best decision my husband and I made when planning our wedding. The space is breathtaking and seeing it all come together the day of the wedding was a fairytale for me. Jenny was our contact throughout the process - she was quick to respond and very accommodating to my husband and I, as well as to my in-laws. She even threw in the ivory drapes for us (we had booked before these were included) after having some last-minute cancellations, and this made the evening so much more beautiful and elegant. Mariah was there the day of the wedding to ensure everything went smoothly and did a fantastic job. The venue was priced very reasonably for its location in the heart of the city and its beauty. The food at Aria was spectacular and people are still commenting 3 weeks later about how good their meals were. We are so grateful to the Aria at Founders Hall staff for making our wedding the best day of our entire lives. Founders Hall will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we will be back to visit often. The photos are also so incredible in this space!

    Beautiful Venue and Great Food

    Beautiful venue! Located in uptown close to our hotels it was a quick walk to the venue. The ceremony and reception were both beautiful and looked amazing in our photos. The food was great, and our guest enjoyed everything. Jenny was a great to work with and very helpful!

    We had a great experience with this venue. There was plenty of space for a dance floor, seated tables, and a food buffet with different stations. The service was excellent - the bartenders, station attendants, etc really stood out. Our wedding guests loved the food! Would definitely recommend this venue for anyone looking in Charlotte.

    Founders Hall is an amazing deal for Uptown Charlotte! Picking a wedding venue was difficult for my husband and I because we had such a big wedding (about 300 guests). Founders Hall was the perfect space because it could actually fit us, was well within our budget, and really, was all-inclusive. Renting out the space comes with tables, linens, silverware, cushioned chivari chairs, a baby grand piano, overhead colored- lighting, and much more. Aria Tuscan Grill is the preferred vendor as you must spend $10K with them before bringing in external vendors, but that was easy to do with our guest size. The actual rental fee was about 1/4 that of anything you'll be able to find in Uptown Charlotte - super super reasonable. The space itself was gorgeous and really, didn't need much to decorate it! The wedding planner associated with Founders Hall/Aria, Jenny, is amazing to work with - she's very responsive and really has so much knowledge about the wedding industry. We had the perfect wedding day!

    This venue is beautiful and left all of our guests speechless. The food was great and they catered it exactly how we wanted it. I would tell all brides to consider having your ceremony and/or reception in this gorgeous place!

    We were so pleased we chose Founders Hall for our reception. Khaki was a breeze to work with and Frank (head chef, Aria) works magic in the kitchen! They worked with us every step of the way and were on call whenever we needed them. Khaki is organized and excellent at what she does. Frank served delicious food to 400 people, including cocktail hour, a 5 course meal and dessert hour. Our 6 hour reception went by too quickly! We loved working with the team at Founders Hall and will always remember our magical wedding weekend!

    Stunning venue for large reception.

    Our daughter's wedding at Founder's Hall was pretty much perfect. Jenny and Mariah were wonderful throughout the process. They were extremely responsive and so patient working with me as an out of town MOB. The venue itself is stunning. It provides an urban feel but is still warm and inviting. The atrium ceiling is gorgeous. Cannot say enough about this venue and the people we worked with. I'd say it was a good value but the minimum expenditure for food/beverage is pretty high so you need to have at least 150 at your reception.

    Great venue! We used this venue for both our wedding ceremony and reception venue. Working with Jenny Ross was great. She was very responsive to any and all questions I had. She let me craft a menu that I wanted and helped me with everything along the way. She also let me customize some of their set options, which was great. They set everything up, moved everything over from the ceremony to the reception, and took everything down. It was basically a one stop shop! Venue, set up, break down, food, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), everything. It was a great value too. The way you can create your own menu, use suggested menus, etc. allows you to make your event truly yours. That also means that you can make this as expensive or as reasonable as you want.
    The food was amazing, the service was great, and the entire atmosphere was exactly what I wanted. It was pretty much perfect. The venue is also breath-taking on it's own, and, despite being in the middle of several banks (that does mean a lot of security guards), you do have quite a bit of wiggle room to decorate it in your own way.
    Despite all of the wonderful things and the fact that I had an amazing wedding and reception, I do have one complaint to make. I paid a per person price for wine and beer. The package I got allowed me to pick 4 beers to have and two wines. Paying on a per person basis, to me, means that there should have been more than enough alcohol to last the night. Apparently that was not the case. By the end of the night, they ran out of 3 of the 4 beers provided. They ran out of one of the beers half way through the reception. That is unacceptable to me. So, I guess the moral of the story is that if you know you have heavy drinkers, give them a heads up to make sure they do not run out of anything.

    Founders Hall holds a special place in our hearts. As a banking professional who works in Uptown Charlotte, Founders Hall is a space that I have walked through for years and when my fiancé and I met with Jenny and walked through the space as a potential venue for our wedding, we developed a new LOVE for the space! Working with Jenny regarding availability, layout options, menu planning, etc has been an absolute dream!!! Jenny is incredibly responsive and always happy to work with us. As a couple who knows what we want, the planning process has been a breeze. We cannot wait to show this incredibly beautiful space to our friends and family on October 17th and celebrate our wedding day!!! More of a review to come...

    The facility was beautiful. The food was amazing. Overall, I would recommend Founders Hall as a wedding venue for the ceremony and reception. The food and beverage manager assigned for our event (Jennifer) was amazing and worked her tail off all night. The wait staff and security were also very responsive. The only difficulty we experienced was that they do not include a wedding planner or coordinator and we had to execute many of the details ourselves.

    We have mixed feelings about our overall experience with Founders Hall. The space itself is beautiful and chivari chairs are included in your rental price which is a huge perk. The indoor trees, marble flooring and soaring ceiling make a beautiful backdrop to many different wedding feels. The food and day-of wait staff provided by the mandatory caterer (Aria restaurant) were incredible. The food all tasted amazing! Working with Aria leading up to our day was much more stressful that I would have hoped. They lost our food order, tried to pass other dishes that we didn't like off on us and were at times a bit rude with us. However, they did give us several more rounds of tastings to try to re-discover the dishes we loved at our first tasting after they forgot the original dishes we had agreed on. They also worked with us to specialize a few bar options and incorporate service details we wanted. They could have been a bit more organized in their process (i.e. they kept giving us dishes with mushrooms to try after we specifically asked for no mushrooms, they gave us a chicken dish to try that was exactly our salad course that we already agreed on with the addition of a chicken breast), but in the end came through with a great day of staff and perfectly cooked dishes. I would in the end recommend this vendor to a friend, but would also recommend that that person keep specific and detailed records of exactly the food they want (like literally down to the tiniest detail of what sauces, garnishes, sides, mains, etc that they liked at their tasting), exactly the price that was agreed on and so forth just to make sure nothing gets lost over time.

    Terrible service from the only provider you can use for an event. Sonoma Restaurant Group is inconsiderate and inept. They also pulled a bait and switch with the food. What they presented to us at our tasting was completely different than what was served at the wedding. Mariah is one of the most dim witted people alive, wholly incapable of her job, and cannot keep here story straight to save her life.
    This is a "restaurant group" that couldn't manage to complete dinner service for 125 people in over two hours. I had friends ready for dessert and my family still waiting for their dinner. Sonoma/Aria were overwhelmed, underprepared and understaffed to handle the most basic of tasks.
    The one shining star of the whole evening was the bar service. Bartenders were on point and had good pours. Thank goodness for that!
