Love Dena! She is the Director of Catering & Special Events for Cafe Hidalgo. The food is sooooo delicious and that's what sold me to hire them for my wedding. Then I find out that Dena offers her services as wedding coordinator for the day and let me tell you. HIRE HER! She ensured my wedding day would go smoothly from setting up our menu, itinerary, wedding procession, problem solving, etc. I wish I had her through the whole process and not just one day. The food is so tasty and I loved how affordable it was. Plus if you want a small wedding or small event, you can have it at the restaurant and save yourself even more money.

After looking at multiple venues for our wedding nothing feeling right we came across Café Hidalgo and Dena the Wedding Coordinator. After Talking with Dena my wife and I knew there wasn't any need to look anywhere else. Dena was amazing and very helpful and the Venue was everything we wanted because we wanted a smaller more personal wedding. Dena made everything she had Available to us and made Our Wedding AMAZING! we got compliments from everyone that went they said "they haven't had that much fun in awhile." There just isn't enough amazing things I could say for Dena and Café Hidalgo. I would recommend this to anyone that asks!

My husband and I got married last June at The Villa del Sol and we couldn't be happier with Cafe Hidalgo. We had them as our caterer, did buffet style and the food was truly high quality. Our guests were very pleased with the appetizers during the cocktail hour and the house sangria was fresh and delicious as usual. After our wedding, our guests shared how good the food was and of course we couldn't have agreed more. There were no complaints that day, the staff was very helpful and quick on their feet. Also, we had Dena help us as our wedding planner and I want to say it was the best thing we could have done. She met with us several times, gave us amazing advice regarding our decor, timeline and food options. We explained what we had in mind, brought the wedding props and she did the rest. Day of Wedding we came to a gorgeous looking venue that demonstrated exactly what we had visioned. She is so talented and has amazing taste! We strongly recommend this catering venue, and of course, their wedding planner! :)

The best of the best! You must hire Dena as your wedding coordinator if you get married at Villa Del Sol! She is amazing at what she does. She was so incredibly helpful every step of the way and so down to earth. Dena responded promptly via email to all my questions, comments and concerns. She made the wedding day so stress free! I completely trusted her with everything and she did not let us down. I highly recommend hiring Dena as your wedding coordinator and booking Cafe Hildago as your caterer! :)

Cafe Hidalgo, Dena David, & the amazing staff were phenomenal in the service they provided for our amazing wedding! The food options were good, & allowed a bit of flexibility in what to serve. The catering is best utilized (in my opinion) with the buffet options. Its a good fit for the food choices & a good fit with the Villa Del Sol venue. We also hired Dena as our day of wedding coordinator at the Villa Del Sol, which allowed us to share our vision & setup details, to which she delivered above & beyond everything we could have imagined! The staff was very helpful, & we were so happy with the service!

Wonderful caterer and day-of coordinator! Dena was so incredibly helpful and responsive during the whole entire process. We were able to create a custom menu to meet our budget, and she also let us order whatever craft beer we wanted! She has been doing this for a long time, so she was able to give us a lot of insight on what would work best for our set up.

The day before the wedding was extremely chaotic for me, and she went out of her way to help prepare our DIY centerpieces for me so that I could go get my nails done and head to rehearsal. On the day of, I was so amazed when I saw the reception area. It was exactly how I envisioned it! Dena went above and beyond and made the courtyard look absolutely beautiful. During the reception, Dena made sure that my husband and I were able to eat, and also made sure that our beer glasses were always full! We received so many compliments on the food as well as the décor.

If you are getting married at the Villa del Sol, I highly recommend choosing Café Hidalgo as your caterer and hiring Dena as your day-of coordinator. I absolutely loved them!

Absolute best catering ever! Dena David and her team were so accommodating and so easy to work with during our planning! I worried about nothing on the wedding day, I knew everything was taken care of. Food was simply delicious, our guests still tell how amazing the food was. Service on the wedding day was fabulous! Could not give enough words to say how grateful we are to the whole team and how much they helped make our special day so fantastic!

If you end up going with Cafe Hidalgo, one of the best decisions you can make is to also hire Dena for coordinating services. Not only is the food great, with amazing flavors that work well together, the overall professionalism is amazing too. From the friendly waitstaff, to the fun bar tenders our experience with Cafe Hidalgo was great.

Dena truly made our wedding the amazing event that it was. She was professional, prompt, and overall amazing! She had great decorating ideas and it was amazing to see all of the decor I brought come together in such a visually stunning way. She also eased a lot of last minute stress. My husband and I both learned if Dena said she will take care of it or if she said everything will work out--it will! I cannot say how amazing she was. She has the experience needed to make your day go perfectly.

Dena and her staff are fantastic! As a bride you are worrying nonstop about details. On the day of the wedding, I handed over all control to Dena, who handled everything amazingly and perfectly. Our wedding was exactly what we hoped for and so much more. So many thanks to Dena and her wonderful staff.

Dena and the entire team at Café Hidalgo were beyond amazing. They were so flexible, kind, helpful and understanding of our huge 220 person wedding. A week later, our guests keep commenting on how good the food was, especially the vegans. As vegan foodies and dietitians, we so appreciated that Mike, the owner called us to personally create 5 brand new vegan options for us to taste and then put our favorite option on the menu for the night for our vegan guests. Not only was the vegan option absolutely delicious, it was one of the most beautiful plates I have ever seen! The non-vegan options were also a hit, with rave reviews of the salmon- some claiming it was the best they'd ever had. We were also so thankful to have Dena as our day-of coordinator as she was detailed, 100% organized and on-top of any mishaps that occurred. We had our florist deliver one less bouquet for the bridesmaids than we needed and Dena was immediately on the phone with her and got us our bouquet in time before the ceremony. She kept us on schedule and the vendors aware of where they needed to be and exactly when. Working with Dena, Mike and all of the Café Hidalgo staff was such a perfect and pleasant experience, we would recommend having a wedding, baby shower, birthday or any other event at Café Hidalgo to everyone we know. Not only was The Villa Del Sol one of the most gorgeous places we could imagine having our wedding, having it catered by Café Hidalgo made the experience that much better. Our big day could not have been any more perfect!

We chose Cafe Hidalgo to cater our wedding at Villa Del Sol on 8/3/2013. This is not your typical wedding food, it was nothing short of amazing. From the appetizers at cocktail hour to the main course served at dinner, everything was delicious. They even made a special vegan plate for myself and a handful of our guests. Usually when restaurants don't specialize in vegan food, you basically get rice and veggies or pasta and veggies. Not at Cafe Hidalgo! My guests and I received a vegan enchilada with a cashew creme sauce, spanish rice and beans. I was very appreciative that they accommodated this request and did so at such a high level of innovativeness.

We also hired Dena David of Cafe Hidalgo as our wedding coordinator. I don't even have words special enough to describe this lady. She is sweet, friendly, organized to a T, and creative. I had a lot of DIY ceremony and reception decor items that her and her staff were able to set up for me, they even packed them up within 10 minutes at the end of the night and put them in our car for us! I didn't even have to give her pictures of what I was looking for, I guess just talking with me about my vision was all she needed. She was able to capture the exact look I was going for (bohemian, country-chic). She even threw little touches in there that we hadn't originally talked about that really just topped the whole decor look off.

I can't recommend Cafe Hidalgo and Dena enough. They say guests always remember the entertainment and the food most; well my guests were raving about the food all night long! Choose Cafe Hidalgo and you will not be disappointed!

It was a pleasure working with Dena and her team at Cafe Hidalgo. Everything turned out beautifully and Dena was there to ensure that everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better event coordinator. She was so helpful and was always willing to go the extra mile for me, like allowing me to use her antique buffet table for my cake. She was always prompt in returning my emails and was very organized. The food at Cafe Hidalgo was fantastic! We got numerous compliments throughout the night on how delicious everything was. Everything was hot and flavorful! I cannot say enough good things about Dena, the food, and the staff at Cafe Hidalgo!

The food at Cafe Hidalgo was AMAZING. We got so many compliments! Dena was incredible. She is prompt, so helpful, so energetic and full of fun ideas! She threw together a last minute flower arrangement for our dessert table and was so present and made me feel so calm on our wedding day. I can't say enough good things about our experience. We are so glad we choose Cafe Hidalgo to cater and even more glad we decided to have Dena as our day of coordinator. She truly went above and beyond.

Cafe Hidalgo does it all! I booked them for my wedding open bar, catering, ceremony/reception set-up and break down, and the best of it all...wedding day coordinator, Dena David and the Cafe Hidalgo staff.
From the get go, Dena was warm, creative, welcoming, and professional. I knew I was in good hands. She offered a great food option for a great price. She replied to all my questions within a timely manner, agreed to meet with me with her busy schedule, and made many suggestions to consider.
Comes the day of the wedding: one word- WOW! It was beautiful. The venue decor, cake decor (Dena arranged the flowers on the cake and table), sweetheart table, dessert table, etc. She did more than I anticipated. Having the dress rehearsal with Dena made the flow of the wedding more natural and fluid. She was very good with keeping all the bridal party as well as myself on the time line to ensure all moments were covered. Did i mention my cake person bailed a week and a half before my wedding? Dena immediately made calls to bakery. Patty's Cake agreed to make my cake for a resonable price on short notice because of Dena's phone call. Without her and the Cafe Hidalgo staff, the wedding would have been a mess. Thanks Dena and Cafe Hidalgo staff for making my wedding a memorable day! My guests were shocked how good the food was. In fact, some mention it was the best wedding food they ever had. :)

We could not have asked for a better Day of Coordinator. Dena and her staff were amazing! Dena went above and beyond for the setup of our venue. She not only handled all of our requests but also threw in some thoughtful personal touches that made the day special. We didn’t have to stress about anything for our big day. When we arrived at the venue it was like a dream come true, everything looked perfect! Whenever we needed her she was there for us and she was always happy to help us with any questions we had along the way. The day went absolutely perfect with Dena coordinating all the way until the end of the night. We are so lucky to have found Dena and Café Hidalgo, we are truly thankful.
When it came to the food of Café Hidalgo our guests are still complimenting on how wonderful it was. There is no doubt that it was the best meal we have ever had at a wedding! The packages were great and Dena worked with us with any special requests we had. The staff was so professional and organized. Dena always made time to meet with us and her expertise made all the hard decisions feel easy.

For our wedding we wanted a small intimate ceremony with close friends and family and a lunch to follow. We immediately thought of Cafe Hidalgo since we absolutely love their food. We met with Dena and she guided us every step of the way addressing every question and concern. We planned our wedding in just 3 weeks and when the day came I felt completely pampered. Dena took care of every detail so that our guests and us could enjoy the day. Being in the wedding business, I have an appreciation for those who go above and beyond and she is that type of person. Thank you Dena for an unforgettable wedding day. I couldn't have asked for anything more. You and your staff surpassed our expectations!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Our wedding day was PERFECT! My new hubby and I are soooo happy that we used Cafe Hidalgo for our catering and Dena for the day of wedding coordinating! We didn't want to worry about the coordinating with vendors or worry about setting up the table scapes. Dena handled all of it! When I saw what she did with our sweet heart table and the table scapes, it took my breathe away. She is very personable and the staff at Cafe Hidalgo were very friendly. All of our guests were so impressed with the venue, food, and staff! If you're a couple who wants their own personal touches to show throughout your wedding and not have a cookie-cutter package deal, I would highly recommend the venue, Cafe Hidalgo, AND of course DENA! Absolutely, positively the best experience we could have asked for!! Dena was a tremendous help and put up with all of my questions!! She was really the best and walked us through every detail from the venue, specifics for the day and the wedding/reception too! We received word from nearly every guest that the dinner from Hidalgo was the best wedding meal ever, and we couldn't agree more! A very smooth evening all thanks to Cafe Hidalgo!

My husband and I renewed our wedding vows after 10 yrs of marriage at Cafe Hildago! It was amazing! Everyone loved the food!We had a small ceremony on the patio and it was perfect! Dena did a awesome job seeing my vision on EVERYTHING I wanted! She was awesome! She worked with me helping me stay on budget and gave me her honest opion on what i needed and didn't need! She was so awesome! I can't even begin to tell you how at ease i was during the whole process! Dena and her staff where amazing! The day was perfect!

People were raving about the food and the venue, Villa del Sol, and how great Dena, the coordinator, was. She is so knowledgable about the menu, the venue, and is an absolute coordinating genius. Dena and her staff at Cafe Hidalgo were seriously one of my favorite vendors to work with for my wedding. The food was outstanding - many of my guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The menu is unique but still classy and a GREAT value for what you get. Everything is high quality and they pile it on high! It made me so happy to see my big hungry family walking away with huge plates of food from the buffet - and even more happy to see them come back for SECONDS! Nothing is worse than a wedding where people are still hungry - Cafe Hidalgo does not allow that to happen!

What I loved most about working with Dena and her catering staff was how they went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated, happy and the most rare quality I've found in a vendor - that we weren't over spending on food and drinks. Dena actually walked us through our decisions on food and drink and used her vast experience to give advice on things like, "cash, consumption or open bar"? "how many appetizers do we really need?" In the end, she helped us SAVE money, based on her honest feedback. I could not believe how nice and professional she was - it was seriously a dream to work with her. Even little things like offering to make a separate batch of vegetarian enchiladas for a couple vegetarian guests and personally making sure they were delivered to them.

Finally, the other benefit of using Cafe Hidalgo if you are hosting your reception at Villa del Sol is that the staff knows the space really well. They even help coordinate with the rental companies, your coordinators and other details for setup to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible. Dena even has event coordination experience, which totally showed in how she helped the event run smoothly. I would highly recommend Cafe Hidalgo for their food, amazing service, and commitment to making their clients happy.
