Everything went as expected. The personnel were ahead of their game. Very professional and very kind. Kaitlin did a great job was very organized. Food was great.Everything went very well. I will definitely would recommend this venue to anybody planning for a wedding. -

Wonderful then, magical now
My husband and I had our wedding reception here almost 34 years ago. Last September, my daughter got married and had her reception here! The staff, the setting, the food, the service - all perfection. We loved coming back to this venue for a second family wedding, and it was even more beautiful than in 1986! The D'Amico catering staff was absolutely outstanding. Guests raved about the food and it was wonderful not to have to worry about that element, as D'Amico is one of our favorites! Kristen made everything easy and always put our minds at ease with any little concern we had. (Side note: The banquet manager found me right after the ceremony and asked what they could make me cocktail-wise; she came back with the BEST Aperol spritz I've ever tasted! So dear!) The bridal suite is truly swoon-worthy, having been redone in the last couple of years. Made for terrific pictures! Bottom line: if you want old-world elegance with a modern vibe, fabulous food and service, and a killer backdrop for photos and for your guests to enjoy, this is your place! -

We got married in the spring of 2019 at CBC, and it was a beautiful space for both a ceremony and a reception. The ceremony space features a gorgeous spiral staircase for the bride to walk down and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. The reception space overlooks Lake Calhoun and is equally airy, open, and beautiful. The weather didn't permit us to be on the patio, but there's also a large terrace overlooking the lake that would be perfect for summer months. It's classy, elegant, and modern without being stuffy. Would definitely recommend! -

Jessica was amazing, from every step of the planning process to ensuring the event was executed perfectly. She provided great recommendations for vendors and was so incredibly flexible with any and all of our ideas. The food was amazing and the venue was gorgeous, our guests are still telling us what a great time they had!

Obviously the venue itself is gorgeous and on top of that, everything was first rate and the staff executed flawlessly on the event day. We received several compliments from our guests that this was the BEST food and service they have experienced at a wedding. Brenda was a pleasure to work with and was great at offering recommedations on many aspects of the day such as vendors, timeline for the day and menu selections. It was so nice to have the piece of mind that you are in good hands on such an important day in your lives! -

Katie Sent on 09/22/2009I highly recommend having a wedding reception at Calhoun Beach Club. The space was absolutely beautiful - I had my reception in the Solarium room. They were great to work with and provided wonderful service. The space was so beautiful that we didn't have to spend a lot of money on decorations, etc, because it looked great just how it was. Definitely overall a great value. -
User955825 Sent on 10/02/2012This venue is BEAUTIFUL. We used the entire floor, room with the stairs for the ceremony and room with the terrace for the reception. Our wedding coordinator did a great job but was not very responsive most of the time. Also the place is pretty expensive! -

Gorgeous Venue in a wonderful location.
Wedding planners did a sloppy job putting the wedding together, poor communication, claimed they were busy to meet up. Valet parking was a mess, purchased parking for all of our guests, although, valet claimed that they were full about halfway through the guest count. On the bright side, the food by D'AMICO catering was phenomenal. Best wedding food I've have, many guests thought so too. -
User2081301 Sent on 03/29/2015Unique venue, and because weddings are mostly what they do, run like clockwork, which alleviates a lot of stress for a bride planning from out-of-town.
Event coordinator was fantastic (a small issue with lag in response in the beginning, but fair enough, as the event was still 4-6 months out). I was a VERY DETAILED, hyper-organized bride, and our event coordinator consistently treated me with professionalism and grace. I am a person that likes to know all options possible, and she handled every barrage extremely throughly, and without any undertone of annoyance or frustration. She also did her job as a salesperson very well--adhering to her goals, but bending enough to our needs logistically and financially when able.
The actual day was quite a blur, so I can't speak much for the actual service staff, but I can say the captain responded efficiently and graciously when I spotted an uninvited joiner during the cocktail hour. Between my coordinator and the captain, the guest was seamlessly worked in.
The biggest con of the venue is how barebones and below-par their included chairs & linens are. I completely understand this promotes reciprocity with local event sales, but their chairs are in unacceptable condition (most are scuffed and many are visibly torn). Be aware of the extra $$ involved if you would like chairs that aren't in disrepair, or linens that are floor length. -

They don’t follow through with their word. Hard for guests to find the venue. They don’t let you or your guests use the elevator even though they force you to pay for an elevator attendant. Their valet service mistreats vehicles. They lined up my car with my guests vehicle to race, they captured it on camera and bre wouldn’t do anything about it. They force you to pay for a security guard, who doesn’t actually show up. It’s a beautiful space, but it’s full of problems and I don’t recommend any bride to go here. Not worth the price or the head ache.
