After getting engaged in April 2014 my fiancée and I decided we would have our wedding among the vines in the Finger Lakes Wine Region. We came up from New York City the first weekend of May 2014 with a list of places, through all the research we did we did not come upon Damiani Wine Cellars. It was not until during a lunch at Stonecat Cafe (highly recommend!) that we were recommended to check them out for a tasting and that they also did events, including weddings. After a fantastic tasting of their wines including the delicious reds we met with the tasting room manager, Michael, and things immediately started to click.
Initially we are a bit panicked because once we decided we were going to have our wedding and reception of course in New York Cit you have to lock it down...now! We were reassured and calmed and brought into the pace of how things operated in the region which probably added 5 years to our lives.
The folks at Damiani especially Glenn and Michael were super flexible as we were coming from out of town and decided on a DIY ceremony and reception. They allowed us to start assembling the day before and were so helpful and attentive the day of. We had a perfect sunset over Seneca Lake followed by a night of great music that we put together, dancing, a bonfire, and some bocce.
If you are looking for a place that has it all: the venue, the view, the wine, and an easy stress free wedding. Give them a call! We'll definitely be back as soon as we can get back up there.
