If you want someone that is amazing and going to provide you with the most amazing memories on video, Derek is the guy! Him and his team are so awesome, and they felt like longtime friends at our wedding! He truly made it all come to life and it meant so much to us! -

We hired Derek to capture our June 2023 wedding at Terra Mia in Paso Robles, CA. From start to finish, Derek was incredible to work with. Derek was responsive throughout the process and took the time to understand our vision for our wedding day photos. His attention to detail was impeccable, always getting the best angles and capturing the most perfect moments of the day. Working with Derek was an absolute pleasure and his second shooter for the day, Patrick was also a joy to work with. We also had the pleasure of working with his wife Jade as our wedding coordinator. They are a dynamic duo! We would highly recommend Derek to anyone in need of a talented, professional, and creative wedding photographer. Thank you Derek for capturing the BEST day of our lives!

I can not begin to explain how happy my husband and I are that we chose Derek as our wedding photographer. If I could give him more than a 5-star review, I would!
The package we purchased included the option for an engagement session which was a great way for him to get to know us prior to the wedding. Also in our package was the use of his drone for both the engagement shoot and our wedding day - WOW! Such great aerial shots and video!
Leading up to the wedding Derek was very professional and organized, giving us tips for being relaxed on our wedding day to get the best photos possible. When the big day arrived, he and his team were so fun yet professional - they all dressed super sharp! We also hired Derek’s company, The SLO Photo Booth, which was great fun during the reception.
The big day came and went, and about 8 weeks post-wedding we received a very professional website with all digital photos (ability to download) with the option to purchase prints and keepsakes directly from Derek’s site. Super convenient!
And WOW! His finished product was stunning! Derek really knows how to capture moments. our biggest shock of amazement was when we received our wedding video. AMAZING doesn’t even do justice to describe it! Our videography package included a video book that auto-plays the 8 minute long video. We keep it on our coffee table and watch it often.
Derek is very fun loving and easy to work with. We can’t thank him enough for his beautiful work! I would highly recommend working with him on your big day! -

We cannot thank Derek and crew enough for being a big part of our day.
They were able to talk us through our vision and delivered shots that we specifically wanted. The portal was very convenient to access our beautiful photo album. The photobooth was modified to take pictures to our liking and Derek was very flexible with modifying the template! Ultimately, the package we really wanted was exactly what we recieved and we absolutely love it!
Derek and his team are incredible. Their energy was always aligned with us enjoying the day while seamlessly capturing every moment that we would want. We appreciated their excitement and creativity throughout. My husband and I are not one for posing but with Derek's coaching and they way he was able to get us to naturally smile with his sense of humor and overall personality got us perfect pictures! Derek and his team engaged with everyone at the wedding, also making our very stoic family members actually smile and laugh throughout the night. We trully recived beautiful pictures because of the direct effort of Derek and his incredible team.
We really could not have asked for a better team. We felt so lucky that they were a part of our day!

Derek is absolutely amazing! I last minute decided I wanted a videographer at my wedding 1 week before I got married (I know!). My husband and I are SO incredibly lucky Derek had availability. Derek was responsive, professional, quick to take on our last minute booking, and most importantly made sure every detail of our wedding was captured the way we wanted it. I highly recommend Derek to any bride and groom looking for a videographer - he’s the best! -

Something I didn't really realize at the time of booking: your photo/video crew is with you ALL DAY. Having Derek and his assistant with us just made the day so much better- we had FUN! Derek is so professional and does such beautiful work that we were really able to relax and leave it in his hands. The best part- his style and work is so high quality, but you never feel stifled like you're on a movie set. We were laughing, having fun, and so comfortable! Having Derek there actually made the day better.
When our photographer stepped away, he switched from video to photo just to make sure not a single moment was missed. I am eternally grateful for that. He has extensive knowledge and experience with weddings, and it really shows. If you don't really know how to be in front of the camera, he's great with helping you feel comfortable and choreographing scenes- without anything ever feeling forced or fake.
A true visionary, he captured the most dreamiest angles with a truly electrifying perspective. Everything just felt seamless.
I could not recommend Derek enough. When we got our teaser trailer, we were screaming and crying and getting to relive our special day in a way that felt just as big as being in the moment.

The memories from our wedding day are moments my husband and I talk about all the time— to reminisce about our favorite day! And something magical happened when we received our film from Derek, all of those memories came to life. He perfectly captured the moments we talked about, and for that, we are so grateful. Derek goes the extra mile!
Derek was an excellent choice for our engagement photos, wedding photos and video! We had 3 different wedding dates due to the pandemic, and he was very flexible with all the changes and didn't change his rate. He gifted us the sweetest custom presents, and his pricing was very fair! We loved the many wonderful photos he captured, and our video (and raw footage) is something we will be able to cherish forever! I highly recommend this service. -

There are not enough words to describe how much we love Derek’s work! We hired him for wedding photography and videography, and rehearsal dinner photography. We are so happy with that decision. He was such a professional, and his skill for organizing large groups of people for photos is unmatched. How he got everyone to look good at the same time is pure magic.
All of our family and guests raved about him — he was everywhere, capturing everything we would want to remember. With his teammate Scott (the videographer), we had full coverage of our wedding day. They got there early for getting ready shots and created a quick bond with our wedding party.
I feel like he really captured us well as a couple.
He also did our engagement photos, which were amazing (of course!). We did two great locations with him and it was a great chance to get to know him before the big day.
As a side note: his wife Jade Preciado was our wedding planner for the day, and those two make an amazing pair. It made it even more of an easy decision to have him photograph our rehearsal dinner, and he felt like more than just our photographer because of their bond. If the two of them are both free on your wedding day, scoop them up!!Derek Preciado Photography's reply:
