We love Holiday Inn - our reception wad in the Great Hall and with the new renovations it was stunning! Great food, kind staff, and helpful to make your event what you envision. My best friend got married and had her reception here and it was the most beautiful, organized, and staff friendly wedding I have ever been too. They did everything possible to make her wedding as stress free and perfect for her. The Holiday Inn did a great job with our reception, there were a handful of 'hiccups' though which is why I can't quite give them a 5/5 review. The event planner was very attentive and when we met with her she was very thorough with everything we were planning. The first issue was that she was training a new event planner and handed us over to her so a lot of information we thought we had been very clear on either got lost or didn't translate correctly between the two event planners. This resulted in quite a few emails and phone calls asking questions we had already answered.
The day of the reception went fairly well, I will say I only saw the 'team captain' who was supposed to help our reception run 'flawlessly' only once. Which was a bit upsetting because I needed help with a few things while I was setting up our centerpieces and our bartender/servers ended up helping us set them up because the team captain as no where to be found. Oh and to top it off when our reception started there was a reception next door, no big deal right?, except their PA system kept tappign into the PA system in our room so they were speaking over our reception. It took about 30 minutes for the staff to fix that problem. And we had an event room next to the pool and the air conditioner wasn't turned on right away. We kept asking the staff to turn the A/C on because the room was hot and muggy and they were telling us it was on but couldn't keep up. Turns out they thought the A/C was on but it was actually broken and no one had looked into it yet. Took them a few hours but they finally fixed the A/C so we didn't' all roast to death during the dance.The Holiday Inn was very apologetic about the PA system and the A/C problem. Overall the hiccups were rather minor and our reception went very well.
