Our daughter's wedding was everything she had dreamed of thanks to Leslie and the staff at the Hotel Phillips. The hotel has wonderful ambiance and having the ceremony and reception at the same venue was certainly the way to go. Leslie and the staff were very accommodating in all aspects of the planning and worked very well with the outside vendors, going above and beyond to help a vision become reality. From the time we settled on the Hotel Phillips and throughout the planning, the wedding, reception, and brunch the following day we couldn't have been more pleased. Our out of town guests were very complimentary, commenting that everyone was always courteous and helpful. Many thanks to everyone at the Hotel Phillips for special memories.

We just recently had our wedding at the Hotel Phillips. It was amazing, romantic, beautiful, and magical! The event coordinator at the hotel was very responsive and attentive to detail; she was paramount in taking our vision and executing it with both the hotel and the vendors. Because we had everything at one venue, we opted to do pictures ahead of time so we could enjoy the cocktail hour and mingle with our guests. Our pictures came out absolutely amazing with the decor of the hotel! We did a first look moment (I highly recommend pictures and a first look ahead of time) and the hotel was wonderful and had everything set up ahead of time. All of our guests loved their rooms, the food, and the convenience of having the ceremony and reception in the same place. It wouldn't have been possible to execute our day without the staff at the hotel; I am so thankful that we were able to work with them! There were zero issues on our wedding day. The staff even took all of our gifts and special items, like our cake service and toasting glasses, to our room (which was staged beautifully).

Good luck and I hope your wedding is everything you and yours dream it will be.

P.S. A note for all the brides out there: the more organized and prepared you are, the more your event coordinators can help you! :)

My husband and I had our reception at Hotel Phillips and it was lovely! We worked with both Tabor and Leslie and they were both AMAZING!! They were so flexible, extremely responsive and a joy to work with. We had a very small reception in the Crystal Ballroom and both Tabor and Leslie went out of their way to make our day super special. We had the salmon, risotto and mixed grilled veggies as our food selection and almost everyone complimented our food. I thought the salmon was outstanding!
Oh, and did I mention I was an out-of-town bride? With the added stress of that, Tabor and Leslie were exactly the people we loved working with!

Communication for the most part is good. Only once did it take a bit for them to get back to me after their booking system switched. All in all this is a beautiful venue and the planning staff has been very helpful. I will update this after the ceremony to give more.

The venue itself is spectacular, food is great, and they take care of almost everything. Very good value for everything you do. Vallet services are very unprofessional. Receptionists seemed to be sad that they were working there. The rooms are decent but you will find much greater service and rooms at the marriot down the road. The reception itself was spectacular. It was difficult at times to contact the event coordinator.

Tricia (event coordinator) was not very available or helpful. Dan, the banquet manager, was available and helpful, but seemed to face challenges within the hotel trying to fix problems. Executive Chef helped us write a wonderful menu, but Executive Sous Chef was left to handle the event, and was not able to execute simple dishes. Beautiful space. Great for having ceremony and reception in same place.

Save yourself the hassle and do not do a room block through Hotel Phillips. They screwed it up so many times and continuously told guests it was either full or just lost the reservation in general. The only reason the block was fixed is because I am very organized and constantly checked up on it. Our rehearsal dinner invoice was $2,500 more than what we originally agreed on. It was fixed in the end but they couldn't seem to get anything right. By far the worst vendor we worked with and we provided them with A LOT of business that weekend. Seriously, save yourself the stress. I would have never worked with them had I known this would be the case.

Pros: Event price, guest rooms, location, atmosphere-the hotel is STUNNING!

Cons: Bad customer service, no follow-through on coordination(and I was VERY organized), unprofessional when resolving issues. It seemed that there was no communication between management, banquet and event coordination. Basically everyone just ran around clueless until we threw a fit and found ONE reasonable person.

I had a huge dilemma the morning of the wedding when I arrived to find they were still tearing down the wedding from the night before, even though I was promised everything would be turned over by then. They actually tried to start setting my tables with the dirty linens from the other wedding-which is insulting. The only reason everything worked out and was as beautiful and amazing as it was, was because of Paul, who stepped in when everyone else failed to follow through. Thanks to him our tables were incredible and I was able to spend the rest of my day as I planned...even if it was 3 hours late starting because of that mess.

Although the communication leading up to the wedding day was ideal, it turned out to be a complete ruse. The day of my wedding was amazing only because my vendors were at their best. The Hotel Phillips was a huge let-down. Not only did the wedding planner leave the weekend of the wedding (this, of course, after they switched planners on me twice) and left me in the hands of the hotel's extremely unprofessional staff that did not care one ounce that they were there to serve a wedding. There was shouting during the ceremony, a complete disregard for any of our contractual requests, and multiple lost items by the end of the night including my florists many vases. The hotel did nothing to turn over the honeymoon suite so my new husband and I finished our evening only to find a huge mess in the room that was (again, written on the contract) supposed to have been cleaned up - much like you would see a normal hotel room cleaned up during the day for normal guests. A complete disappointment.
