Attention to detail and great service!

Having postponed our wedding due to COVID, I have worked with multiple event coordinators at the Hyatt during our accidental 2.5 year engagement. Alexandra has been hands down the most helpful one! She answered my thousands of questions promptly and reached out for any information she needed from me. Hyatt was more than accommodating when we had to reschedule and their attention to detail was unmatched. The venue provides virtually everything needed in terms of linens, cutlery, catering, desserts, etc. Bridy was a great help with booking hotel rooms for our guests. I would highly recommend this beautiful venue and the lovely staff who made planning for our big day a breeze.

What a magical place to get married! From the moment we signed a contract with the Hyatt, they were the epitome of customer service, class, and sophistication. Everything we wanted, we got, and on the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. The catering done by the chef was by far some of the best food I've ever had in my entire life. The views from the Capitol room were stunning. I cannot say enough good things about the Hyatt. Special kudos to their event coordinator Kendall who took over last minute after my original coordinator relocated. Everything was picture perfect and I would highly recommend the Hyatt to any bride considering an elegant downtown hotel affair.

***HOWEVER, beware of the difficulty with room blocks! They were very confusing and the customer service in that department wasn't great. We eventually got everything straightened out, but be prepared for lots of confusion when dealing with the room block situation!

Harmony (the Hyatt wedding contact/coordinator) and her staff did such an amazing job in making our day so special. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I would not hesitate to recommend Harmony and the Hyatt to our family and friends. We had such a wonderful time. It was a dream come true!

I could go on for days, but i'll try to keep this short and simple: We had our wedding reception here in the Capitol View Room and could not be happier with every thing!!!!

The Capitol View Room itself was perfection. The balconies are comfortable and romantic with hedges, lounge furniture and candles. Guests relaxed outside, smoked cigars, and cooled off between their favorite songs. Inside, the dance floor was awesome, and the chandelier was a gorgeous new addition that really added a special touch to the room. The views were beautiful, and sun set was the perfect backdrop for the cocktail hour before dinner. The room is so modern and pretty with its sconces and floor to ceiling windows that we didn't need to concern ourselves with gaudy décor or extra florals.

The catering department is fantastic. Everyone was patient and accommodating during the planning process and made the day fly by smoothly and without a hitch. Heather was like my own wedding angle. Always quick to respond to any and all of my concerns, incredibly professional, and a total sweet heart. The food was catered by Dawson's and not a single one of our 120 guests had anything bad to say - even our picky eaters licked their plates clean and the service was attentive and sincere. The bar tenders were great, very friendly with guests and made sure we always had the drink of our choice in our hands. Katherine helped with the room block and set us up with the honeymoon suite which was very spacious and clean and the perfect place for my bridesmaids and myself to get ready before hand and for my husband and I to escape to after the party.

Really, planning our wedding with the Hyatt was everything I could have asked for. I'd recommend this venue to any new bride. Wedding planning is difficult enough, but the Hyatt's all inclusive packages and wonderful staff made sure the venue, food, and bar were a few things that we didn't have to worry about at all.

Big thanks to Yuri and all the Hyatt staff for making my wedding weekend phenomenal! It was one for the books! Everything was planned to the tee by myself and executed phenomenally by Yuri + team -- she has great attention to detail and I'm thankful she was our Hyatt event coordinator!

I had my wedding of about 115 people in the Capitol View Room on New Year's Eve. Overall, everything went smoothly and we had a great time!

Cons: Room is small. They say you can have a sit-down dinner for up to 120 people in this room, but we opted to do food stations instead. There wasn't enough space to have a seat for everyone, but in retrospect, I wish we had more seating. Food station plates were more of an appetizer size, so we had a few complaints that they were too small. The servers also cleared full drinks from the table that people were still drinking causing people to revisit the bar and we had to pay for those wasted drinks.

I'm not sure where the miscommunication happened, but they only have 6 foot rectangle tables (and round). I had specified with the Hyatt and my dessert provider that I did not want to have 12 feet of dessert tables plus a cake table because it would be overkill, but that is exactly that I got. That may have been something the dessert provider asked for.

There was another miscommunication where we were supposed to get small floral centerpieces provided by Hyatt. I also wanted to get centerpieces from my florist, so I guess that Hyatt assumed I did not want their floral centerpieces, but I wanted them for the cocktail tables. They ended up looking for some flowers to place on the cocktail tables the day of the wedding, so I appreciated them trying to remedy the situation.

Pros: I hardly ate any of the food myself, but I heard that the food was quite delicious. The room itself is very beautiful with pretty chandeliers and 4 balconies with amazing views! I felt that Stephanie and the Hyatt made the planning process so easy and they did everything they could do make our dream wedding come true. They provided us with excellent service! (There's no room left to add more, but I would highly recommend Hyatt for your wedding!)

We had our ceremony at the Hyatt only in the Capitol View Room. If I had to do it over again, I would still choose this place. My only wish would have been to have my ceremony time later in the afternoon. It was inconvenient for my guests to have such a big gap/lag time between the ceremony and then the reception at a restaurant in the evening. Other than the time issue, the room itself was gorgeous and the hotel rooms were very modern and newly renovated. The view was stunning and there are wall to ceiling windows, even though the ceiling itself is somewhat low. The service at the Hyatt is impeccable and I found everyone courteous and friendly. The only cons were that my guests had to pay for parking since I only had a ceremony and did not have a reception there. So I could not get them any parking rate reductions. Also a tip for the bride would be if you have a hotel room block with the Hyatt, have your guests book directly with the Sacramento Hyatt reservations since the nationwide reservations service kept messing up the booking process and it annoyed my guests to no end and created constant problems for me. But the coordinator/catering manager, Heather Foreman, was very on top of things, organized, and quite calm and accessible, which any bride will appreciate.

We were married at the Catholic cathedral only a block away and the hotel was a wonderfully close choice for our reception. All of our guests were directed to a private entrance at the hotel and offered drinks and hors d'ouvres until our arrival. The reception was wonderful and many guests, ourselves included, conveniently stayed the night at the hotel. I suppose the only down side to the event was having to end the party too early.

Overall, excellent experience. A couple times I had to get on the phone with our coordinator and "demand" things when they initially weren't willing to accommodate my requests (which were not by any means extreme or unreasonable), but they eventually gave in. They definitely contributed to my wedding being the best night of my life because they took care of everything that night and I just got to enjoy myself.

We had our reception at the Hyatt and overall it was very nice. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive and the food was very good. The only two things that were kind of frustrating is we wanted to change the menu a bit, but it would have cost us extra and overall, they were pretty expensive. They charge extra fees for cake cutting if you bring in your own cake and also charge for opening bottles. Make sure you get a run down of all the prices before you commit, so you are not surprised.

We had our reception in the Capitol View Room. It is the nicest and prettiest hotel reception venue in the city, but there are very few choices. It was expensive. We had the choice of 3 dishes, one was good (the halibut), I had the veg meal, which was not edible, and the steaks were very well done, which I'm sure was good for some people. It was hotel food and we did not expect much more from it. They have a nice brunch buffet on Sundays. The catering staff and bartender were great. Our coordinator was more accessible to us as the date got closer, but I felt like I was repeating myself in our communications via email and that was frustrating. The guests all stayed there, about 45 rooms, and they were very outdated, I think they are trying to work on that, but it's pretty ugly in the interim. It was a lovely event, but I would probably think about it some before I chose them again. My husband had no complaints.
